Section 1. Or�inances 2695 949610962 4963 5789, 5790 and
II 57g2 of the City of Jefferson, pertaining to the office of General
Custodian of the City Cemetery, his appointment, term of office, C
Iiqualifications, powers and duties and the regulation and maintenane
of the New City Cemetery, and the price of lots therein, be and �{
the same are hereby- repealed.
I: Section 2. General GustodiaTi. There is hereby cr-ated the

office of General ustodian of the ity Cemetery. �
j Section.3. Appointment. The office shall be filled by the
I; appo;.ntment of the Miyor with the consent of a majority of the
; members of the it-,y- ouncil.

qSection 4. Term of Offlote. 'he term of office shall be
,� for two ,years or until a successor shall be duly appointed and
li shall have quklifi.ed. The office ehall be filled on or before
iI the second regular meeting of the ity Council after the general
city election in the year 1955, and every two years thereafter.
In the event of the death9 -resignation or removal of the appintee, �
q the Mayor, with the consent of the majority of the members of the
IlCouncil.9 shall have the right to make an interim appointment of a
,Iqualified person to serve the balance of the two year term. !

if Section 5. Qualifications. No. person may be appointed to
1�: said office unless he is over the age of twenty-one ,years, a resi- Il
fi dent of the City of Jefferson, and of sober and reliable charactergl

Section 7. Maintenance o� Cemetery• It shall be the duty oft
II the General Custodian of the City emetery to see that the Cemetery
G is kppt in good order, that the fences are kept in repair, that the !
; weeds and grass are cut, that graves are filled after settling,
, that all excess dirt be removed by the undertaker and deposited at
j! some suitable place, and that the entrance into the cemetery and the:
