Election of uLty Officials. Section 5. TI..gDilation of elections. All. U ity elections shall be held under . 6 orovisions of' the general elections laws of the Sate of Jvssouri ; provided that, all certificates of nominatic and petitions therefor, as provided by the state election laws, shall be filed with the city clerk and not with any other officer; and all duties specified tp be rierformed by tic constable or sheriff under the State election laws shall be pr•rformed by the marsball In the city elections., and ell ballots f,)r the City elections shall be printed by the city at the city's expense; and all duties heretofore performed by the county clerk with reference to city elections shall be performed by the city clerk. Section 6 Fegi-,t ation of voters. The registration of voters in this city shall be r e g—u Ecate d-,---controlled and provided for as is set out in Cl-,9-ntor 114 of the RLvisad9tatutes of M.'ssouri, or any amendment thereto. S'etion 7. Judges and Clerks; Anpointment. At a meeting of the council held at 1�ast five. days before the day of the election, the Council shall apoint for each voting precinct six suitable and qualified persons to act ad judges, and recommend four suitable and qualified ersons to be appointed by said judges to act as clerks of said election at the precinct from which they have been appointed, and the clerks and judges off' said election shall take oath, conduct the election, count the vote therear, and make the returns thereof, duly certified, to the city clerk in the manner muired by the general law of the state at the time the election is held. Section G.. Judges and CletksoCcmDensation. All judges or clerks of any special. or general city election shall be allowed five ($5.0b) dollars for thb6r serv.1ces in conducting said election and returning the poll books and ballots t(b the city clerk's office; said sum to be paid out of the city treasury. Section 9.-Illegal Voting. Any person, not being a qualified voter, who vote, or attempt tc vote, at any election held in the ct)tv for the purpose of electing city officers, or for any other purpose aut orized by the state laws or the ordinances of this city, shall be deemed guilty of a mis- demeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine not to exceed One Hundred (100.00) Dollars, or imprisonment in the city jail for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days, or by bot)A such fine and imprisonment. Section 10.
