Tuesday, April 26, 2022, 6:30 p.m.

1. CALL TO ORDER — Chair Wintercorn called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

6. CONSENT CALENDAR
A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Committee on Aging is requested to review and approve the Minutes of
the Regular Committee Meeting of January 25, 2022.

Committee Member Seitz moved to approve the Consent Calendar as
amended, seconded by Committee Member Rodenbucher and carried by the
following roll call vote:
AYES: Committee Member—Gunther, Jambazian, Powell, Rodenbucher,
Seitz, Wintercorn
NOES: Committee Member — None
ABSENT: Committee Member—Chan, Liou, Tan De Bibana
ABSTAIN: Committee Member—None
Action: Approved.
7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A. UPDATES
• Older American of the Year Nominatinon
Parks and Recreation Coordinator Rodriguez announced that Mick Mistretta
has been selected as older American of the year.
Director of Parks and Recreation Matsumoto stated that Mr. Mistretta is a
Vietnam veteran, an Elks Club member, and interacts with various food banks,
the Historical Society and has resided in Temple City pre -incorporation.
8. NEW BUSINES
A. REVIEW OF COMMITTEEE ON AGING GOALS FOR 2022
Director of Parks and Recreation Matsumoto provided a verbal presentation of
the staff report highlighting accomplished immediate action steps,
accomplished goals and remaining goals.
Chair Wintercorn suggested a resource from Verdugo Hills Hospital that could
help with a senior driven partnership with the City. He stated that foundations
are providing grants for senior care and enrichment.
Ex -Officio Sneed suggested a partnership with high school students teaching
seniors how to use technology at the Community Center.

Committee Member Powell suggested to provide blood pressure tests. She
asked Parks and Recreation Coordinator Rodriguez when the Senior Lunch
Program will be resinstated onsite.
Parks and Recreation Coordinator Rodriguez stated that seniors currently have
the option to pick up their lunches or have them delivered. He stated that the
City will soon have a walkthrough with YWCA to discuss providing meals onsite '^
as well as a meals on wheels delivery plan.

B. 2021 REPORT CARD
Parks and Recreation Coordinator Rodriguez provided a verbal presentation of
the staff report and requested 3-5 members to create a subcommittee to finalize
and memorialize the report card to be posted on the city website.
Committee Member Rodenbucher volunteered to participate in the
subcommmitte.
Committee Member Seitz volunteered to participate in the subcommmitte.
Committee Member Powell volunteered to participate in the subcommmitte.
Chair Wintercorn volunteered to participate in the subcommmitte.
Committee Member Seitz made a motion to create a subcommittee to finalize
and memorialize the report card to be posted on the city website, seconded by
Committee Member Rodendbucher and carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Committee Member— Gunther, Jambazian, Powell, Rodenbucher,
Seitz, Wintercorn
NOES: Committee Member — None
ABSENT: Committee Member — Chan, Liou, Tan De Bibana
ABSTAIN: Committee Member — None
C. NOTIFICATION OF COMMITTEE ON AGING MEMBER WITH EXPIRING
TERMS.
Parks and Recreation Coordinator Rodriguez stated that five Committee
Member terms expire June 30, 2022. He state that Committee Members whose
terms will expire in 2022 have been notified and will update the City regarding
their desire to remain on the Committee.
Chair Wintercorn asked Director of Parks and Recreation Matsumoto what
would happen if a Committee Member no longer desired to participate in the
Committee on Aging.
Director of Parks and Recreation Matsumoto stated that the City would instate
a recruitment process to fill the available seat(s) of the Committee.
9. COMMUNICATIONS FROM STAFF
A. Adam Matsumoto, Parks & Recreation Director updated the Committee that
Primrose Park opened April 26 with an estimated 300 people present at the
grand opening. He stated that Primrose Park will be open from 7 a.m. — 8 p.m.
He continued that the Easter Egg Hunt and Pancake Breakfast event was well
attended by youth and the community. Lastly, he updated the Committee
regarding upcoming events such as Concerts in the Park, Camp-A-Palooza,

Movies in the Park, Summer Day Camp, summer sports, and Park and
Recreation month.
Committee Member Jambazian asked why Primrose Park closed at 8 p.m.
Director of Parks and Recreation Matsumoto stated that the City decided to
close Primrose Park at 8 p.m. due to the fact that it is so close to a residential
area.
B. Roman Rodriguez, Parks & Recreation Coordinator updated the Committee
that he received a recommendation to include wound care and in bed living on
the City's senior webpage. He encouraged the Committee to submit
suggestions for the senior webpage to the either himself or Director of Parks
and Recreation Matsumoto. He concluded by announcing his departure from
the City of Temple City to pursue a supivisory position with the City of
Rosemead.
Director of Parks and Recreation Matsumoto wished Parks and Recreation
Coordinator Rodriguez well in his new endeavor with the City of Rosemead.

FROM THE REGULAR AGENDA - None
Ex -Officio Member Sneed announced that the Temple City Unified School District
will hold its first in person meeting on April 27 where fellow Committee Member
Jambazian will be recognized for his service to the Community.
12. ADJOURNMENT
The Committee on Aging Meeting was adjourned at 7:24 p.m. The next scheduled
meeting is Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 6:30 p.m.
