AN ORDINANCR of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, vacating and
disccantinueing as a public thoroughfare all that part cf Dockery
Street, described as; Beginning at the northeast corner of lot
14 Block 3 Ferguson Place, said point of beginning being on the
westerly line cf Dockery Street; thence southerly along the westerly
line of Dockery Street 128 feet to the northerly line of Cordell Str
Street; thence easterly along the northerly line of Cordell Street
extended, for a distance of 31 feet; thence northerly to the paint
of beginning, all in the City of Jefferson, Idsscurim and shown on
the plat of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and authorizing the
Myor of the said City to execute all necessary ubstructdions to the
owner of the adjacent lot for that portion of said street so vacated,
at the part,* entitled thereto, as shown by the records title to
said adjacent and abutting property, and declaring a reverter to the
respective owner of said abutting real estate.
WHEREASs It has been shown to the City Council of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, that the owner of the abutting property on
Dockery Street, just west of the above described tract, have used,
improved and occupied and are now using and occupying said abutting
land so that said portion of said street has ksm ceased to be of a
any use or benefit as a public thoroughfare, and that said property
owner referred to above owns land on the east side of Dockery Street,
a portion of which he is deeding to the City for street purpose in-
order that the said Dockery Street may have a better alingment, there-
fore it will not inconvenience the public or the citizens of the City
of Jefferson, li; ssouri to discontinue and vacate th t pertion od
Dockery Street as set out above as a public thoroughfare,thereforet
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF J:EFFERSON,MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS s
SECTION 1. It is hereby decRared that the City ''ouncil of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri , deems it necessary and expedient to
vacate and discontinue th" t part of Dockery Street described as;
Beginning at -the northeast corner of lot 14 Block 3 Ferguson Place
said point of beginning on the westerly line of Dockery Street;
thence southerly along the westerly line of Dockery Street 128 feet
;F to the northerly lineof Cordell Street;. thence easterly along the
northerly line of Cordell Street extended, for a diet:-nce of 31 fee ,
thence northerly to the point of beginning, all in the City of
Jefferson, li ssouri, and shown on the plat of the city of Jefferson,
Missouri . All the owners of the property and adjaeent. lots abutting
cn :kka and adjacent of said street having petitioned the said City
Council to vacate and discontinue said portion of Dockery Street as
a part of the public thoroughfare of said City, said street or portion
thereof is hereby vacated and discontinued as a public thoroughfare
and yh power and bight of reversion of said portion of said street
to the adjacent and abutting property oviner, as is provided by the
Statues of the State of Missouri , is hereby fully confirmed and
apprtved and the Mayor of this City is hereby directed to execute
and deliver all proper and sufficient writings, of instruments for,
on behalf of or in the name of the City to fully and completely es-
tablish and guarantee to the adjacent property owner their legal
rights in connection viith the rbove vacation of said property of
daid street.
