SECTION 1. That a special election be, a.nd the ame is
hereby ordered to be held in the City of Jefferson, Cole County,
It- issouri, on Wednesday, the 7th day (if Decermber$ 1938, for the
-nurpcse of submitting to the qua, fled voters of sr).i city a pro-
osition to increase the indebtnedness of said city in the sum of
19075,000, ;:nd to issue the negotiable coupon bonds of said City
therefor, s,.lid bonds to bear interest at not to exceed Three per
cent ( 3%) ner annum, for the purpose of providing funds t.o pay the
cost of -nurchr- sing the existing waterworks plant and system now
furnishing carter to said City and its inhabitants, to be owned ex-
clusively by said City, • nd to ;authorize the evy and collection of
an annual ta.x in addition to the other taxes provided for by law
sufficient to pay tf-;e interest on s�-id indebtedness as it falls
due, end to constitute a sinking fund for t..e payment of the prin-
cipal thereof within twenty years from the time of contracting the
s�irne.
SECTION 2. Th •t the City Cle=,k of the City of Jefferson,
1"isscuri , be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to give
notice of said election by ca.usi6g to be published in the Post-
Tribune, a. dz.oily news,iaper printed a.nd published in the City of
Jefferson, 11issouir,a.nd of general circulation in said City, a
notice of the time , place of holding and purpose of said election,
s,-,,id notice to be ?,ui•lished once a week for three consecutive weeks
in said news.par)er, the first publication of s,-+.id notice to be made
,-!t least tiventy-one d,:ys before and the last publication to be
srithin two weeks of the date ff snid election. Said election: shall
be held and conducted and the result thereof shall be canvassed in
all respects in conformity with the Constitution and laws of the
St• to of Missouri governing elections in said City of Jefferson,
Yissouri , 'nd in accordance with all ordinances duly adopted by the
Council of said City.

owned exclusively by said City?
