SECTION 6. Said directors shall, immediately after appointment
meet and organize by the election of one of their number president,
and by th;; election of such other officers as they may deem ned -
essary. they shall make and ac+opt such by-laws, rules and regulgtions
for their own guidance and for the government of the parks as may be
expedient, not inconsistent with this ordinance. They shall have ex-
clusive control of the expenditure of all money collected to the credit
of the park Fund and of the supervision, improvement, care and custody
of said parks; Provided, that all money received for such parks shall
be deposited in the treasury of Jefferson City to the credit of the
Park ,rund nd shall be kept separate and apart from other monies of
Jefferson City, and drawn upon by the proper officers of Jefferson ity
upon h£ pgoperly authenticated vouchers of the Park Board.
Said koard shall have power to purchase or otherwise secure grounds
to be' used for parks; shall have the power to appoint a suitable
person to take care of, said parks and necessary assists s for said
person, and shall fix their compensation, and shall have ower to
J " remove such appointees; and shall in general carry out tl�e spirit and Jtmxt
intent of this ordinance in establishing and maintaining public parks.
SECTION 7. The Hoard of DIRECTORS SHALL MAKE, ON OR BEFORE THE
second Monday in June, an annual report to the Common ouncil, stat-
ing thr condition df their trust on the first day of M §Ly of that
year, the various sums of money received from the Park fund, and other
sources, how much monies have been expended and for whaE purpose, with
such other statistics, information and suggestions as they may deem of
general 'interest. All such portions of said report as relate to the
y' receipts, and expenditurex of maney shall be verified by affidavit.
SECTION 8. Any person desiring to make donations of money, per-
' sonal property or real estate, for the benebit of said Park fund shall
have the right to vest„the title to the money or real estate so do-
nated in the Boars. of irectors created .tnder this ordinance, to be
t held and controlled by.such Board, when accepted according to the
terms of the deed, gift, device or bequest of such property; and as
to such property the said Board shall be held and considered as
special trustees.
SECTION 9. It is hereby declared the policy of the City govern ment
that two members of the 'oard of Education when nominated by the
Board of Education shall be appointed as directors of the Park Board.
SECTION 10. This ordinance shall be in force and effect from and
after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
