AN ORDINANCE PROVIDIPG FOR THE REPAIRING, SURFACING AND RE-SURFACING
BY THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI) OF' EAST CIRCLE DRIVE, FROM THE
CENTER OF TI-iE INTERSECTION OF EAST. CIRCLE DRIVE AND IiAYS7LTON DRIVE
TO THE CENTER OF THE INTERSECTION OF EAST. CIRCLE DRIVE AND VIOLA
STREET, ALL OF SAID IMPROVEIIENT TO BE WITHIN THE LIInITS OF SPRINKLING
OILING, REPAIRING, SURFACING Ai;D RE-SURFACING OF DISTRICT Id-:MBER ONE
(1) OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, IvUSSO( i.'RI, AND FOR THE ISSUANCE OF
SPEC•IALLTAX }SILLS, NOT EXCEFDII� G SIXTY ( . 60) CENTS PER FRONT FOOT,
AGAINST THE ADJO PIING PROP' RTY FRONTING OR BORDERING ON SAID STREET,
TO PAY FOR SAID IMPROVEI,7,1T .
BE IT ORDUNED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, EIISSOURI
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds and declares that it
is necessary to repair, surface and resurface at a cost not exceed-
ing (0.60) cents per front foot, t:ie following described streets:
East Circle Drive, from the center of the intersection of East
Circle Drive and Hayselton Drive, to the center of the intersection
of East Circle Drive and Yiola Street, all of said improvement tDdbe
Yrithifil;theClimits of sprinkling, oiling, repairing, surfacing and
resurfacing District Nnalber One (1) of the City of Jefferson, trli ssourf
and all of said work to be dine according to the plans and speci.fica4
tions of the said City Engineer.
S2TION 2. The City Council finds and declares it is advisable and
to bhe best interest of the owners of property to be cnarEed with
the cost of said work; that tiie said work small be done by the City
without letting a contract therefor, and thr.t the Street Cornmissioner
is hereby directed to purchase tie necessary materials and employ the
necessary labor for the performance of said work, and shall superin-
tend the same and keep all. aacounl:.s and an accurate account of tine
cost thereof.
Si'CTTOI'd 3. The cost of such repairing, surfacing, and resurfacing
shall be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in favor of the
City of Jefferson, on the adjoining property fronting or bordering
on the said street where such work is dd)ne, in proportion i;iiat the
linear feet of each lot fronting or bordering thereon bears to the
,.; total. number of linear feet of all property c:hargable with the tax
aforesaid, in the territory embraced wit i�.n t:iis ordinance. Special
Tax Bills small be issued, evidencing such assessment, and shall
become liens on said property, and shall be issued and enforced as
provided by law.
SECTION 4. Cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfacing shall
not exceed the sum of sixty (0. 60) cents per front foot per annum,
on the property abuti-ing the street aforesaid.
SFCTIOI: 5. All ordinances or Darts of ordinances in conflict with
trtis ordinance are hereby repealed.
;;ECTION 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
