AN ORDINANCE of the City of Jefferson, vacating and discontinu-
ing as a public thoroughfare that part of McCarty Street from the
east line of lot 15 Block 2 in St.- Louis :ieights, east to Vetter
Street, excepting that portion used by the PJissouri State Highway
for right cf way purposes, in the City of Jefferson, Missouri) and
authorizing and directing the mayor of said City to execute all nec-
essary instruments to the ownersx of the adjacent lots to and far
said street so vacated, as the parties entitled thereto as shown
by the record title to said -aduacerit and abutting 'property arid de-
claring a reverter to the respective owners of said abutting real
estate'.
WHEREAS: It has been shown to the City Council of the City of
Jefferson, Missouri, tkipt the owners of the abutting property on
McCaety Street from t:te east line of lot 15 Block 2 in St. Louis
Heights, east to Vetter Street, excepting that portion used by the
Missouri State Highway Department for right of way purposes, have
used, Improved and occupied, and are now using and occupying said
abutting and adjacent land so that said portion of said street has
ceased to be of any use or benefit as a public thoroughfare and
that it would not inconvenience the public of the citizens of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, to discontinue and vacate sadd portion.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1; It is hereby declared that the' City "ouncil of the
City of Jefferson, Uissouri, deems it necessary and expedient to
vacate and discontinue as a public thoeoughfare that part of McCarty
Street from the east line of dot 15 Block 2 St. Louis Heights,
east to Vetter Street, excepting that portion used by the 1.1issouri
State Highway for right of way purposes, in the City of Jefferson,
74issourif All the owners of the property and adjacent lots abutting
on and adjacent to said street having petitioned the said City
Council to vacate and discontinue said portion of said street as
a part of the pbhl'ic thoroughfare of said City; said street is here-
by forever vacated and discontinued as a public thoroughfare and the
power and right -of reversion of said street to the adjacent and
abutting property owners, as is provided by the Statutes of the
State of Missouri, is hereby fully confirmed and approved, and the
Mayor of this City is hereby directed and authorized to execute and
deliver all proper and sufficient writings for or, on behalf of the
City to fully and completely establish and guarantee to the ad-
jacent and abutting property owners their legal rights in connection
with the above vacation of said street.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
