A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, ORDERING AN ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON MAY 6, 1995 TO ELECT THREE (3)
COUNCIL MEMBERS IN PLACES 1, 3, AND 5; AND
APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICIALS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Section 1. An election shall be held to elect three (3)
Council Members in Places 1, 3, and 5 for a two-year term between
the hours of 7:00 o'clock a.m. and 7:00 o'clock p.m. on May 6,
1995, in said City, at the following designated polling place:
City Hall
3200 Diana Drive
Richland Hills, Texas
Said City shall constitute a single election precinct for said
election.
Section 2. Eligible persons wishing to become candidates must
file an application with the Mayor or City Secretary of the City of
Richland Hills, Texas, on or before the 22nd day of March, 1995,
• until 5:00 o'clock p.m. Applications will not be accepted prior to
February 20, 1995.
Section 3. Early voting shall be conducted by personal
appearance and by mail at the City Hall, 3200 Diana Drive, Richland
Hills, Texas, during the period early voting is required or
permitted by law, being April 17, 1995 through May 2, 1995. The
hours designated for early voting by personal appearance shall be
from 8:00 o'clock a.m. to 5:00 o'clock p.m. on each day except
Saturdays, Sundays and legal state holidays; and the early voting
clerk shall keep said early voting polling place open during such
hours for early voting by personal appearance. The early voting
clerk for said election shall be the City Secretary.
Section 4. All resident, qualified voters of said City shall
be entitled to vote at said election.
Section 5. Notice of said election shall be given by posting
a notice in compliance with the Texas Election Code on the bulletin
board used for posting notices of City Council meetings located at
the City Hall, in such manner that said notice is visible to the
public 24 hours per day, seven days per week, not later than the
30th day prior to the date set for the election; and a copy of said
notice also shall be published in a newspaper of general
circulation in said City, not earlier than the 30th day or later
• than the 10th day prior to the date set for said election.

Section 6. The Election Officials to conduct said election
shall be and are hereby appointed as follows:
Election Judge: J. Alan Hollis

Alternate Judge: Loyce Greer

The Election Judge shall appoint not less than two nor more than
five qualified election clerks to serve and assist in conducting
said election; provided, that if the Election Judge actually serves
as expected, the Alternate Judge shall serve as one of such clerks.
Section 7. The Election Judge, Alternate Judge and such
election clerks as are appointed by the Election Judge shall also
serve as the Early Voting Ballot Board for such election.
Section 8. The City Secretary shall deliver copies of this
Resolution to the Election Judge and Alternate Judge appointed
herein not later than the twentieth day after the date of this
• Resolution, which copies so delivered shall constitute notice to
the Election Judge and Alternate Judge of their appointment as
provided by law.
Section 9. Said election shall be held in compliance with the
Charter of the City of Richland Hills, Texas, and the Texas
Election Code.
Section 10. The one person in each of Places 1, 3, and 5
receiving the highest number of votes shall be deemed to have been
elected as the Council Member in that particular place for a two-
year term.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Council of the City of
Richland Hills, Texas, by a vote of 3 ayes, 2 nays and 0
abstentions this 14th day of February 1995.
