AN ORDINANCE regulating the issuance of traffic tickets to
violators of the motor vehicle law.
DE IT ORDAIN ED BY T11L CITY COUILCIL OF T'TE CITY OF JEFFERSOIi
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION: 1. The City Clerk shall provide in triplicate
suitable serially numbered forms for notifyi:rhg violators of any motor
vehicle ordinance for appearance and answering to charges, of violat-
ing the City traffic ordinances. Such forms shall be issued to and
receipted for by the Chief of Police or other person acting for him.
,... The policeman and traffic patrolman urhen an arrest is made for the
'` violation of a city traffic ordinance, shall. make an original and
two copies of traffic ticket, which original and two copies shall
bear the same number. One of the copies shall. be given to the
violator or placed in a secure and visible place on his vehicle.
The other copy of said traffic ticket shall be giver, to the police
Judge at the earliest reasonable opportunity and at t1he .end of each
month the police 'udge shall. return his copy of said tickets to the
City Clerk, and said traffic ticket shall contain, proper space for
the police judge to report to the City Clerk as to hoer said case eras
disposed of in his court, ti�fhat fire was assessed or imprisonment
assessed, if any. For this purpose the City Clerk or his representa-
tive shall have access to the necessary records of the police depart-
-` went. and the police court. These reports shall be public records and
the City Clerk shall at tlhc end of each rrnontlh report to the I.?ayor and
to the City Council. the disposal made b, the police department of all
triplicate for:-is issued to them.
SECT101\1 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are thereby repealed.
