for the within mentioned work in accordance with the ordinance of
the � ity of Jefferson, Missouri, relative to said kind of work, in
accordance with the Charter of said City in regard to said work, and
according to the Statutes of the State of Missouri, as made and
provided.
SECTION 5. his ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE regulating the use of loud speakers, sound trucks
and voice amplifiers on the streets of the City of. Jefferson,
providing for a license tax for those persons, firms and corp-
orations using loud speakers, voice and music magnifging devices
on sound trucks pn the streets of the City of Jefferson, and
providing a penalty.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person
firm or corporation to use any sound amplifying equipment to play any
music, whether it be for the purpose of advertising any goods,
wares or merchandise, -or whether it be for the purpose of announcing
any public meeting, *or for any other purpose whatsoever, when said
music is amplified by the use of sound equipment or sound amplifying
apparatus or any device amplifying the playing of said music from
vwhicles. being driven over ti:e public streets of the hty of
Jefferson.
Section 2. Announcement of. public meetings or gatherings
of shows, entertainments, public speaki.ngs, sales, advertisomgnt
of goods, wares amd merchandise, is hereby prohibited when expelled
from sound amplifying equipment commonly called llud speaker
systems, sound trucks, or any other voice amplifier, when such
announcements are made from any vehicle of any kind whatsoever
being. driven over the public streets of the City of Jefferson,
except said announcements may be made by a licensed person,
licensed according to the provisions hereof, between the hours of
10:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M; also between the hours of 3:00 P.M.
and, 4:30 P.M—: on any streets in Jefferson t'ity, and said
announcements may be made by any licensed person firm or
{: corporation. At no time shall the sound truck be parked but must
be moving. Between the hours of 7:00 P.17., and 10:00 P.M '., arxkgnwZ
a truck maybe parked for serving public speaking only and not for
selling or displaying merchandise.
SECTION 3. The output of any sound amplifying equipment when
lawfu.- ly used according to this ordinance, shall at no time, when
used with trumpets, exceed one and one-half watts, or 'when used
with parabolic or cone type speakers, shall not exceed three watts;
provided further that the use Of records, recordings, trans-
criptions, or radio, for loud speaker advertising, is hereby for-
'' bidden.
Section 4. the electrical inspector shall have the right
and Privilege to stop any sound equipment above described being
used on said public street and inspect the audio output of said
equipment and determine if theuser of said equipment is complying
with the provisions of this ordinance.
