A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, DESIGNATING CERTAIN
INDIVIDUALS AUTHORITY TO HANDLE REGISTRATION
DOCUMENTATION PERTAINING TO UNMARKED
LICENSE PLATES.
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills recognizes the need for the Richland Hills Police
Department to operate unmarked police vehicles in the performance of official duties; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills shall request that the Texas State Department of
Highways and Public Transportation issue regular plates upon proper application; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS:
I.
The governing body of the City of Richland Hills does hereby resolve that certain vehicles
used by the Richland Hills Police Department are exempt under V.A.C.S. 6701m-2 when used
in the performance of official duties.
• II.
The Chief of Police of the City of Richland Hills is authorized to designate and use such
unmarked license plates for vehicles as she or he may deem necessary for the purpose of
transporting juvenile offenders, criminal investigates, and for performing official police duties.
III.
The following persons are authorized to handle the registration and licensing of unmarked
vehicles: Tern Willis, Barbara Wright, and Barbara Childress.
Passed and approved by the City Council of the City of Richland Hills, Texas, by a vote
of 5 ayes, ~ nays and ~ abstentions this 14 th day of May , 1996.
