A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA; RELATING TO
ETHICS; URGING LOCAL BUSINESSES AND THE KEY
BISCAYNE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE THAT ALL OF ITS
MEMBERS ADOPT THE MODEL CODE OF BUSINESS
ETHICS AND REQUIRING ALL PERSONS TO ADOPT THE
CODE OF ETHICS PRIOR TO OR AT THE TIME OF
ENTERING INTO CONTRACTS WITH THE VILLAGE OF
KEY BISCAYNE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce ("GMCC") has adopted a Model
Code of Business Ethics; and
WHEREAS, the Model Code, which is annexed to this resolution, is a statement of principles
to guide decisions and actions based on respect for the importance of ethical business standards in
the community; and
WHEREAS, the GMCC encourages its members to adopt the principles and practices
outlined in the Model Code; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council of the Village of Key Biscayne believe that each person
who does business with the Village should be required to adopt and to adhere to a Code of Business
Ethics.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE
VILLAGE OF KEY BISCAYNE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Each person or entity that seeks to do business with the Village of Key Biscayne
shall adopt a Code of Business Ethics ("Code") substantially similar in form and content as the
GMCC model Code of Business Ethics, and submit the Code to the Village Manager prior to, or at
the time of, execution of any contract between the contractor and the Village.
Section 2. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
