AN ORDINANCE, providing for the repairing, surfacing and resurfacing
by the City of eeffr,rson, Missoi.tri, of Dix Road from north edge' of the
concrete slab on Highway Pdo. 50 to a point ;,7 feet south—of the north
line of the southwest quarter of the Southwest quarter S ction 1,
Township 44 Range 12, all of said improvement to be within the limits
of sprinkling, oiling, repairing, surfacing and resurfacing District
Number Thirteen (13) of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and for the
issuance of Special Tax bills, not exceeding sixty (0.60) cents per
front foot, against the adjoining property fronting or bordering on
said street, to nay for said improvement.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VI JEFFr�RSON, h'ISSUt1RI,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the % ity Council hereby finds and declares thatit
is necessar to repaifl, surface and resurface at a cost not exceeding
sixth (0.60} cents per front foot, Dix Road from the north edge of
the concrete slab on Eighway #50 to a point 97 feet south of the
north line of the Southwest quarter of the Southwest quarter of
Section 1 Township 44 Range 12, all of said improvement to be within
the limits of sprinkling, oiling, repairing, surfacing and resur-
facing District Dumber Thirteen (13) of the City of Jefferson,
TVi ssouri, and all of said work to be done according to the specifications
of the city od Jefferson, Missouri.
SECTION 2. The pity ouncil finds and declares it Is advisable and to th
the best interest of the owners of property to be charged with the
cost of said work* thpt said work shall be done by the City r.ithout
letting a contract therefor, and that the Street Commissioner is hereby
directed to purchase the necessary materials =nd employ the necessary
labor for the performance of said work, and shall superintend the same
and keep all acurate accounts of the cost thereof.
SECTION 3. The cost of such repairing, surfacing a: d resurfacing shall
be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in favor of the City of
Jefferson, Lissouri, on the adjoining property fronting or bordering
on said street where the work is to be done, in porportion that the
linear feet of each llt fronting oL. bordering thereon bears to the
total number of linear feet of all the property chargeable with the
tax aforesaid, in the territory embraced within this ordinance,
Special tax bills shall be issued, evidencing such assessment, and shall
become liens on such property, and shall be issued and enforced as
provided by law.
SECTION 4. cost of such repairing, surfacing a_-:d resurfa.c:ing shall
not exceed the sum of sixty (0.60) cents per front foot per annum,
on the property abutting tree street aforesaid.
SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts o*' ordinances in conflict with
this ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shalo take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
