AN ORDINANCE to amend Chapter 2 of the Revised Ordinances)
of the City of Jefferson, "isso .ri, for the year 1;41, relating to
misdemeanors, by inserting a new sect_lon immediately following
Section 158 and before Section 159 to be known as Section 158A,
prohibiting the filling up, dumping in, or obstructing -ny water-
course or stream of water within the city limits Pnd providing
Penalties for the violation of this ordianance.
BE IT ORDAINED FY THE CITY CONTJCIL OF TEE CITY OF JEFrEI?SON,III S SOUR I)
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 2 of tree Revised Ordinances of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri i for the year 1941, relating to mis-
demeanors, be and the same s hereby amended by inserting a new
section immediately following Section 158 and before Section 159 to
be known as Section 158A, prohibiting the filling up, dumping in
or obstructing any watercourse or stream of vater within the oity
limits and provid&rlg penalties for the violation of tyis ordinance.
SECTION 158 A. "ny person or persons, who in this city, shall
place or sugfer to be placed in aViy watercourse or stream of water
the Missouri River excepted, any dirt, stones, rubbins, tin cans,
refuse, logs, tree branches or any other object which wc&ld fill up
the channel or obstruct the free passage of water through any such
watercourse or stream of water, shall be deemed guilty of a mis-
demeanor.
SECTION 2. This Crdinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 14, SECTION 815. OF THE REVIBED
ORDINANCES OF THr' CITY OF JEFFERSO>.!) ?'ISSOURI, FOR THE YEAR 1941;
relating to the office of health Officer and the salary and ex--
enses to be paid the Health Officer, by striking out of Section
15 in line 5 thereof the words and figures "FIFTEEN? HUT-?DRED
DOLLARS ($1500.00)" and substituting in lieu thereof the words and
figures 11011E THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SIND EIGHTY DOLLARS ($ 1680.00)11.

SECTIOF 1. That Section 1'15 of Chapter 14, of the Revised
Ordinances of the ity of Jefferson, I.'issouri, for the year 1941,
relating to the office of f?ealth Officer and the salary and expenses to b
be paid the health Officer, be and the sane is hereby a::ioaded by
striking out of Section 815 in line 5 thereof the words and figures
"Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1500.00)" and substituting in lieu thereof the
words and figures "One '`housand six IT and Eighty Dollars ($1680.00)
so that Section 815 as amneded shall read as follows: :
SECTION 815. The office of health Officer of the City of
Jefferson City is hereby created, The "ealth officer shall be
appointed for a term of one year by the Mayor with the consent and
approval of a majority of the ity Counci; . The salary of the
Health Officer stall be One Thousand Six Hundred and Eighty Dollars
(¢1680.00) per- annum and in addition thereto he shall receive not
more than Twenty-five "ollars ($25.00) per month toward payment of his n
necessary expenses. The r,ity I-ouncil shall provide him with proper :Xz
lab6gatory equipment and supplies. Said health officer shall be
&-proved by the Department of Dairying of the Missouri State University.
