RN ORDIEANCE, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE ISSUANCE OF CURRENT
REVENUE BOT:DS OF,TTIE CITY OF JEFFERSON j
., MISSOURI, IN THE PRINCIPAL
S1111 OF TWENTY-THREE THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (23 500) AND
7AKING PROVISION FOR THE PAYMENT OF TILE PRINCIPAL THERAOF AhD THE
INTEREST THEREON.
WHEREAS, to provide funds to meet current public needs of
the City of Jefferson., Missouri., and to maintain the necessary
public sergices of said City, to pay the salaries of officers and
employees, and to meet the necessary expenses of said City., it bas
become and is necessary that the "'ity of Jefferson borrow the sum
of Twenty-three housand, 4,1ve Hundred Dollars (23., 500)., and issue
therefor appropriate evidences of its indebtedness; end
XIERBAS,, by and tinder Section 6934 of the Revised Statutes
of the State of ?�'issouri, 1939. the City of Jefferson is authorized
and empowered, by ordinance, to issue bonds payable in une year, o

Ordinance No. 4 lg City Council of the City of Jefferson did, by
j adopted and approyed on the 6th day of July,,
19431 . levy a tax of sixty cents (600) upon each One Hunc.red Dollars
of the aforesaid assessed valuation., to provide funds to pay the
current general operating expenses of said "ity; and
'AFEEREAS, this city Council does now find that the aforesaid
tax levy and other sauces of revenue applicable to the payment of
current general expenses of said "ity for the current fiscal year,
exclusive of taxes and revenues provided for and charged with the
payment of the bonded indebtedness of said City or other special
obligations thereof, will produce prior to i,arch 31., 1944, approxi-
mately ,the following amounts., to-wit:

Jefferson in anticipation of the collec-ticn, of the aforesaid taxes
and revenued; and
1.',7!EREAS, THE said City has incurred no other debts or obliga-
tions which are a charge upon said taxes and revenues., and 811 Of said
revenues yet uncollected are available for tl;e purpose of rliaintr-ining
the necessary public services., PFYing salaries of officers and

employees, and meeting the necessary expenses of said City; and
'JIiLREAS, the amount now proposed to be borrowed, to-wit,
Twenty-three Thousand, Five Ilundred Dollars, (2 3, 500) , will not ex-
ceed half of the aforesaid anticipated, bu uncollected, revenues
for the current fiscal year; and
'MIEREAS, TI?e amount of the bonds nc-�reby authorized together
ir:,ith all other debts and obligations of said City chargeable to the
revenues provided for the year 1943, will not exceed the sum of
said revenues:
NOW TIIET?EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED FY THE CITY COMIL OF THE
CITY OF JEPFERSCI', I.`ISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTIOId 1. Thgt, in order to provide funds to meet current
public needs of said ity, to maintain the necessary public services
thereof, to pay the salaries of officers and employees, and to meet
the necessary expenses of said City curing the current fiscal year
ending Liarch 311 1944) there shall be and there are hereby authorized
ordered and directed to be issued the Current Revenueja onds of said
City of fl efferson, I.'issouri, in the principal amount and sum of
Twenty-Three 'rousand, give Hundred Dollars (23, 500), Said bonds shall
be of the following denominations:
POT-.1D, 140. 1 Shall be of thz denomination of $12,, 500.00
BOVD YO. 2 shall be of the c.enomination of 11,000.00
Said bonds shall be nur:ibered One (1) and Two (2) ; shall bear date
of July 1, 1943, and shall bear interest at the rate of three per
centum (3%) per annum, payable with the principal of said bonds.
Toth the principal of and the inrtexest on said bonds shall be pay-
able in lawful money of the I?nited States oaf America at the Offiue
of the City Treasurer of said City, in the ity of Jefferson, 17issouri9
The said bonds shall be executed by the signature of the 1,1i�or of the
City of Jeffersone attested by the signature of the City `dlerk, under
the seal of said ity. The said bonds shall mature and become due
-and payable on March 31, lQ44 .
SECTION 2. The City of Jefferson reserves the right to call
in either or both of said bonds for payment rnd redemption, upon the givi
giving of thirty (30) days' written notice to the holifer or holders
thereof, and upon giving notice to the State Auditor of T`_issouri,
as provided by Section 3301 of the- Revised Statutes of I.Iissouri,
1939
SECTION 3. That said bonds shall be in substantially the

The City of Jefferson, in Cole county, Vissouri, a municipal._
corporation duly incorporated and existing under the laws of the
State of T,Iissouri, acknowledges itself to owe anti, for value received
hereby promises to pay to bearer out of the current revenues of the
fiscal year within which this bond is issued, the sum of

This bond is ofe of a series of two (2) bonds, numbered One
(1) and Two (2) , of like date, tenor and effect, except as to de-
pominaticn, abgregating the rincipal sum of Twenty-three thousand
ive Hundred oll.ars (23,000, issued by the city of Jefferson for
the purpose of anticipating not exceeding half of the current revEn ue
of said City for tl)e present fiscal year, under authoft�y of Section
6934 of the Revised Statutes of Nissouri for 1939, and by further
authority of an ordinance duly adopted by the `'ity ounci_l of said
City.
It is hereby certified, recited and represented that all
acts, conditions and things required to be done precedent to and-E
in the issuance of this bond, in order to make the same a valid and
binding obligation of said City, have been done, have happened and
have been performed in regular and due form, time and manner, as re-
quired by law; that an appropri=t&on has been made out of the current
revenues of said City for thr, present fiscal year, sufficient to pay
the principal of this bond and of the series of which this bond is one,
together with interest thereon, according to the terms hereof, and
that the total amount of this bond and the issue of w*h it is one
does not exceed half of the current revenues of said �''ity for the
present fiscal year, and does not exceed any statutory or constitu--
tiunal limitation.

SECTION 4. That the F,"ayor and city lerk of said City are
hereby authorized and directed to cause to Se prepared and printed,
in such form as will comply with the provisions of this ordinance,
the bonds hereinbefore described, and when the said bonds shall have
been executed as above indicated, they shall be presented to the
State Auditor of ?Missouri for registration, and each of said bonds
shall have endorsed thereon a registration certificate of said State
Auditor in substantially the following form, to-wit:
