AN ORDINANCE to repeal Sectio• 642, Revised Ordinances ofthe
City of Jeff ersoii, r issouri, 1941, relating to the regulation
of taxicabe and the rates of carriage of persons and property by
taxicabs, and to enact a new section in lieu thereof.', relating
to the same subject, to be known as Section 842.
Pe it ordained by the "ity Vouncil of the I-ity of Jefferson,
r'issouri, as follows:
Sectioh 1. That Section 642 of the Revised Ordinances of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, 1941, relating to the regulation of
taxicabs ot:d the rates of earriage of persons and property by
taxicabs, be and the same is hereby repealed and a new section
to be known as Section 642, relating to the same subject, is
hereby enacted and to read as follows:
Section d42. That for the purpose of this ordinance, the "
"Uptown District" of the City of Jefferson is hereby defined
as the area bounded as follows: on the Fast by the east line
of Lafayette Street, on the bouth by the north line of Ashlyy
Street, on the 'Nast by the ":est line of Bolivar Street and on
t:-:e 17orth by the i�?issouri river.
r"or the purpose of extablis'iing reasonable and proper ratee for
the carriage of persons and/or property by taxicabe to any and
all parts of the city of Jefferson, T,`issouria the minimum and
maximum rate or charges shall be as follows:
A. from the "Uptown District" to any point t(: the 1300 Block
in the east, south or 'ilest sections of the city the rate shall
be 25 cents for each passenger.
R. From the "uptown nistrict" to any one point within the Uity
limits East, Vest of �outh the fare or rate of carriage shall
be not less than 30 cents nor more than 40 cents for the first
passenger and not less than 10 cents nor more than 15 cents for
ti:e second 'assenF er and not less than 15 cents nor Snore than
25 cents for eaca additional passenger.

for the first passenger and not less than 15 cen s nor more than
25 cents for each additional passenger.
F. From ony one point beyonc the 1300 block west or south to
any one point west of Jefferson St. and not within the"Uptown
District" the fare it rate of carriage shall be not less than
30 cents not more than 40 cents for the first passenger and
not less than 10 cents nor more than 15 cents for the second
passenger and not .less than 15 cents nor more than 25 cents for
each additional passenger.
