Owens President of the Council Mayor Attest: Ii W Ells City Clerk #4775 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND DIRECTING THE SUBMIISSION TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, COLE COUNTY, MISSOURI, AT THE GENERAL CITY ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 22 1946 OF TWO PROPOSITIONS FOR THE INCURRING OF INDEBTED NESS AND THE iSSUAIITCE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN EVIDENCE THEREOF IN THE AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF One Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars WHEREAS in the opinion of the � ity Council of the City of Jefferson, in bole �;ounty, Missouri, it has become necessary to provide certain public improvements in and for bh&d City as followg;4 to-wit: 1. Creating, opening and improving a new street, be- ginning at the south end of Clay Street and running in a southwesterly direction to Dix Road in said City, at an estimated cost of One Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars (1124.000.C:o) and 2. That at the general City Election to be held in the City of Jefferson, Cole County, Mj ssouri, on Tuesday, the 2nd day of April, 1946, there shall be submitted to the qualified voters of said City the following propositions, to-wit: PROPOSITION NO. 1. To increase the indebtedness of the city of Jeffer- son, Cole r,ounty, ,Missouri, in the amount of One Hundred�'went -1 our thousand Dollars 7124,000.00 for the purpose of creating, opening Pnd improving a new street beginning at the south indebtedness by the issuance' of bonds of said City in said amount for said purpose. That the election on the aforesaid proposition shall be held in the several wards and in the precincts and at the pollj.ng places established for the holding of the aforesaid general City election and as set forth in the "Notice"of Lond Election" as prescribed in Section 5 hereof. 379 SECTION 3. SECTION 4. That the said polling places shall be opened on the day of said general, City election at the hour of 6 o 'clock APM. and shall remain open until the hour of 7 o'clock P.M. on said date, it being now determined and declared that on said 2nd day of April, 1946, the hour of sunset will be prior to 7 o'clock P.M. 4.he said election shall be held and conducted and the results thereof shell be certified, canvassed and declared in all respects in conformity with the consti- tution and the 'j-ws of the State of Missouri governing elections in said Pity of Jefferson, and in accordance with the ordinances of said City. SECTION 5. That the City `'lerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to give notice of the submission of the aforesaid pro- position at the aforesaid general ,submission election by publication in the Daily Cnpital News, a daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Jefferson, and of general circualtion herein. The said notice shall be published in said newspaper once a week for four (4) con- secutive weeks and on the same day in each week. The first publi- cation of said notice shall be made at least twenty-one (21) days be- fore the date of said election, and the last publication shall be made within two weeks of thr date of said election.
