AIi ORDINAN CE CREATING AN INSPT CTION DEPARTMENT IN THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI; CREATING A CHIEF INSPECTOR TO RE EX-OFFICIO
RUILDIhG INSPECTOR; AND CREATING TWO DEPUTY INSPECTORS IN SAID
DEPARTIaFNT.
BE IT ORDAIVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AW FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There is hereby created an Inspection Department
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the head of said department
to be known„as 'hief Inspector and to be ex-officio Bu-Ilding Insoec-
tor of the ity of Jefferson, Missouri.
Section 2. Said '-hief Inspector shall be appointed by the
Mayor by and with the consent add advice of the majority of the
members elected to the City council and shall hold his office for
a term of two years and until his successor shall be duly appointed
and qualified unless sooner removed for good cause in the manner
provided by the ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri for
the removal of �Jity Officers. He shall rake the usual oath required
of City,_Officials. He shall glso give bond to the satisfaction
of the mayor in the sum of rive thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) for
the faithful performance of the duties of his office. He will
account for and pay over all monies coming into his hands by virtue
of his office and thpt he will turn over to his successor all books,
papers, and records coming into his hands by virtue of his office.
Section 3. Said `chief Inspector shall perform all of the
duties and have the same-powers as outlined in the City Ordinances
of the City of Jefferson, M ssouri pertaining to yuilding Inspector
and in addition thereto shall give advice to the planning and 4on-
ing Commission and shall advise the Adjustment Board as regards
matters of re-zoning in the City of Jefferson, Missouri; shall make
recommendations from time to time to the �'ity �'ouncil as regards re-
zoning and housing problems in the ity of Jefferson and particularly
as regards any Federal governmen al"housing programs pertaining to
veterans of World Mar No. 2.
Section 4. Said Chief Inspector shall receive a salary of
Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) per calender month, and in addition
thereto Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) per month for expenses per-
taining to the operation end maintenance of his motor vehicle in
carrying out the performance of his duties.
Section 5. The present Electrical Inspector shall immediately
become a Peputy I"spector in said department and sh all be accotntabl.e
to the Chief Inspector in the performance of his duties and shall
work out of said hief Inspector' s office. However, said Electrical
' Inspector shall be appointed and continue to receive the same salary
in the same manner as now provided by ordinance and shall continue
under the same name and perform the same duties and have the same
powers as outlined under the provisions if the present existing
ordinances pertaining to electrical inspector.
Section 6. The present Plumbing Inspector shall immediately
become a Deputy T'°spevtor in said department and shall be accountable
to the clhief Inspector in the performance of his duties and shall
wick out of said Chief I spector's Office. I.T()Wever, said Plumbing
Inspector shall be appointed and continue to receive the same salary
in the same manner as now provided by ordinance and shall continue
under the ssme name and perform the same duties and have the same
powers as outlined under the provisions of the present existing
