AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIATE $300 00, FOR ACTING BUILDING INSPECTOR.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any money in the
City Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the following:
REVENUE FUND
For purpose of paying Mr. Lester White for his
services as acting Building Inspector for tonthe of
January, February)& March, 1946. $300-00
SECTION 2. This Ordinance s hall take effect and be in force
from -and after its passage and approval.

AN ORDIAANCE CREATING A CROSS*WALK FOR PEDESTRIANS IN THE ONE HUNDRED
AND TWO HUNDRED BLOCKS East High Street in the Uity of Jefferson,
Missouri) and to read as follows:
BE IT nEDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, Missouri,
as follows:
SECTI ON 1. There is hereby created a cross-walk in the one
hundred block East High Street in the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
said cross-walk beginning at a point on the north curb in the one
HUNDRED BLOCK East High Street 224• feet west from the northwest cor-
ner and also beginning at a point on the south curb in the one hun-
dred block East High Street 224 feet West from the southwest corner
of the intersection of High and Madison Streets and running in a
westerly direction 12 feet along the north curb of High Street and
12 feet along the south cirb of High Street, said points as designated
on the n orth curb of High Street and the south curb of High Street
shall be connected by white marks across High Street, and said space
between said white lines shall be a pedestrian cross-walk across
High Street.
MR SECTION 2. there is hereby created a cross-walk in the two hundred
block East High Street in the City of Jefferson,, Missouri, said cross-
walk beginning at a point on the north curb in the two hundred block
East High Street 219 feet West from the northwest corner and also
beginning at a point on the south curb in the jrwo hundred block East
High Street 219 feet West from the southwest corner of the intersection
of High and Monroe Streets and running in a westerly direction 12 feet
along the north curb (-,.f High Street rind 12 feet along the south curb
of High Street,, said points as designated on the north curb of High
Street end the south curb of High Street shall be connected by white
marks across High Street, and said space between said white lines
shall be a pedestrian cross-walk across High Street.
SECTION 3. Every pedestrian crossing the cross-walk designated
herein shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles crossing said
cross-walk.
SECTIOT 4. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 3 of
this ordinance, every driver of a vehicle shall exercise the highest
degree of care to avoid colliding with any pedestrial upon the cross-
walk designated herein and shall give warning by sounding the horn
when necessary and shail exercise Proper Precaution on observing any
child or any confused or incapacitated person upon said cross-walk.
SECTION 5. ny person violating the provisions of this ordi-
nance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
