Section 7. Nothing in this Ordinance

require or permit any electric light or power line attachment by
the ity o:P for the City. If Electric Light or pwoer line attach-
ments are desired by the City or for the t'ity, then a separate norl-
contingent agreement shall be a prerequisite to such attachments.
Section 8. Xhis Ordinance shall be in full forcr and effect
for a period of twenty years from and after Its passage and approval
and acceptance by the Company.

Section 9. All other ordinances and agbeements or parts of
ordinances and agreements relating to the operation of, or right
to operate a telephone and communication system within the City are
hereby repealed unless herein specifically excepted.
Section 10, The Telephone Cpmpany shall within thirty days
from and after the passage and approval of this Ordinm ce file its
written a�eeptance with the City Clerk and upon such acceptance
being filed this Ordinance shall be considered as operative and
being in effect from and after its passage and approval by the

1411-1EREAS, the City Uouncil of the City of Jefferson, in Cole
County, Missouri , does now find and determine that it would be
desirable and in the public interest to provide additional public pa.
park facilities for the said City and its inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of acqiiiring lands and
improving the same for use as public parks is said City would be
approximately two Hundred 1housarid 'ollars ($200,000) ; and

Laws of the State of Missouri., to incur indebtedness for the aforesaid
purpose upon the assent of two-thirds of the voters of said City votinr,

the amount of such indebtedness, when added to all outstind ng indebtednes

WHEREAS., the amount of bonded indebtedness now proposed to
be incurred, when added to the aforesaid outstanding indebtedness, will no
not in the aggregate exceed any constitutional or statutory limit of
indebtedness;

WIEREAS, there has been presented to the 14ayor m d City Council
of the said City of Jefferson a petition-as!/ling that an annual tax of
two (2) mills on the dollar be levied upon all taxable tangible pro-
perty within said City fot the establislwnent and maintenance of free
public parks in said City of Jefferson under and pursuant to the pro-
visions of Section 15333, Revised Statutes of Yissouri , 1935; and
WHEREAS : the said petition is signed by more than one hundred
(100) taxpaying voters of said City of Jefferson; and
rHEREAS, it now becomes the duty of the "ity `'ouncil of said
City to call and provide for the holding of an election for the pur-
pose of voting upon the aforesaid questian:
vow, THEREFORL, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE 0OUNICIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFF LRSON, COLE COUNTY, ArISSOLRI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That a special election shall be and the same is
hereby called and ordered to be held in the Qity of Jefferson, Cole
County, Missouri, on Tuesday , the 11th day of February ,
1547, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified tioters�of said
City the two following propositions:

To increase the indebtedness of the City of Jefferson
Cole Iounty, Y"*'ssouri, in the amount of Two Hundred
Thousand Dollars (4200,000) for the purpose of acquir-

SECTION 2. '-Lhat the said special election shall be held in all
of th e wards of said `'Jty and at the polling places hereinafter desig-
nated in t1--o form of 111;OTICE OF SP3_;;CjAL ELECTICI%-" as set forth in SEC-
T101%, 3 hereof.
The polls at said election shall b e opened at the hour of 6
o ' clock A.M. and shall continue open until the hour of 7 O 'clock P.M.
on said day.
The said special election shall be ehld ad conducted and the
result thereof shall be certified, canvassed and. declared in all re-
spects in conformity with the Constitution ad Laws of the State of
Vissouri governing elections in the said City of Jefferson, and In
accordance with the ord ;.nm ces of said City.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk be and he is hereby au tho r
ed and directed to give notice of said special election by publication
in the Daily Capital News, a daily newspaper printed and pl.1bliehed in
the City of Jefferson and of general circulation therein. Said notice
shall be published in said newspaper once a week for four consecutive
weeks., and on the sane day in each week. The first publication of said
notice shall be made at least twenty-one (21 ) days before the date of
said election m d the la( t publication shall be made within two (2)
weeks of the date of said election. Said notice, to be so published,
shall be in substantially the following form, to-wit:

and under Article 10 of hapter 76 of the Revised Statutes of
Missouri, 1939, as amended by Laws of Missouri, 1941, page 362.
SECTION 7. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance shall be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.
SECTION 8. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in
full force 8ndn and after its passage and approval.
