NO. 3170. AN ORDINANCE Pi;OVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK
OF CEIutD33NT CONCRETA.', MATERIAL, FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, THREE FEET BACK FROM
BACK OF CURB, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF McCARTY ST +'!,T, BET9J} l;N BOLIVER AND
HARRISON STREET, AND ABUTTING 437.5 FEET ON McCARTY STREET OWNED BY
MISSOURI PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY, BEING ALL OF INLOTS 427 .426-425 AND
THE SOUTHERLY PART OF INLOT 4241, SIDEWALK TO START AT THE EAST CURB
LINE ON BOL IVER STMi,RT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON ,
AS FOLLOWSt

SECTION. 1. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material, four feet in
width, three feet back from back of curb, on the North side of MCCarty
Street, between Boliver and Harrison Streets, and abutting 437.5 feet
on McCarty Street Sidewalk to start at the East curb line on Boliver
Street, owned by Missouri Pacific Railway Company, being all of Inlots
427-426-425 and the Southerly part of Inlot 424, be constructed and
built within thirty days from the service of a copy of this Ordinance
on the Owner of the property hereinabove described.
SECTION. 2. Within two days after the passage of this Ordinance, the
City Clerk shall place in the hands of the City Marshal a Certified
copy of this Ordinance, and said City Marshal shall serve or cause to
be served a copy of this Ordinance on the Owner or Owners above mentioned
by delivering a copy hereof to said Owner or Owners or by leaving it
with some member of his family over the age of I5 years, making his
return on another copy of said Ordinance, which copy shall be filed in
the office of the City Clerk.
SECTION. 3. In the event the Owner or Owners above named fail to con-
struct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City of Jefferson,
under the power and authority given it by its Charter and Ordinances,
will construct said sidewalk and will issue a special tax bill against
said property for the cost of the construction of said sidewalk, which
said special tax bill will be a lien against the property above described.
SECTION. 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage and approval.
