HomeMy Public PortalAboutGAC Minutes 1999 06/16GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES JUNE 16, 1999 Attending: Dari McKim Jeff Goodman Jeannie Campbell Max Williamson Todd McKenna Carl Hoss Dan Pillard Minutes: Following the review of the minutes from the last meeting, it was suggested that the following changes were made: Dari McKim was present instead of Jeanie Campbell and the last sentence was changed to read: the existing Golf Course Advisory Committee and a couple members of the city council meet at our regular meetings to consider the audit report recommendations. Motion was moved and seconded to make these changes. New Business: Budget review, after a review of the budget, the committee was interested in finding out what was in the professional services line item. Dan Pillard will find the information. There was discussion on the following golf operations issues: full time employees of the pre shop be required to rouintely play golf in order to become familiar with the playability and operations of the golf course. It was moved and seconded that full time employees of the golf shop as supervised by the golf pre have golf privileges as distinguished by the golf pre. There was discussion on improving the quality of the current score cards, it was suggested that advertising and pictures of the signature hole and Payette Lake be utilized. Old Business: Discussion was made to re-install the rein gutters. Dan Pillard suggested that new brackets were needed and that the old gutters were in good shape. Discussion was made on reconstruction of the bridges and the addition of one to the left of #5 green on the aspen course. Staff Reports: Dan Pillard, Dan presented a plan to re-sod several tees on the golf course. The total cost was approximately $10,000. The following changes were proposed: #1 New tee #8 Rebuild #9 New tee #1 Birch, new front tee #2 Birch, new tee, with dreinage fl,4 Birch, re-sod #7 Birch, new tee #8 Birch, new tee #9 Birch, extend back #2 Aspen, level and widen ~4 Aspen, re-align There were no other staff reports.
