AS FOLLOWS:
SECTICIT. 1 . That a sidewalk of cement concrete material, four feet in
width, ----feet back from back of curb, on the East side of I'Lonroe
street, between Tyler -and 'Vioodlemn atre(:.ts, and abutting; r)0 fret on
I.:onroe Street, owned by Scrurgfs-Guhlenan Lumber Co. , being lot 46 of
':loodcrest Addition be constructed and built within thirty days from
the service of a copy of this Ordinance on the owner of the property
hereinabove described.
SECTION. 2 . Within t-,io days after the passa.Ge of this Ordinance , the
City Clerk shall place in the hands of the City 11arshal a certified
copy of this Ordinance, and said City liarshal shall serve or cause to
be served a. copy of this Ordinance on the owner or owners above
mentioned, by delivering a. copy hereof to said owner or owners or
by leaving it with sotto menber of his fa,r�i.1y over the age of 15 years,
nakeing his return on another copy of said Ordinance, which copy
shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk.
SECTION. 3. In the event the owner or owners above named fail to
construct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City of Jefferson,
under the power and. authority given it by its charter and Ordinances,
willconstruct said sidewalk and will issue a special tax bill against
said property for the cost of the construction of said sidewalk,
,nhich said special tax bill will be a lien against the property
above described.
SECTION. 4 . This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its passage and approval.
