NO. 3265. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR TIE IMPROVEMENT OF THE
ROADWAY OF MCCARTY STREET IN THE BLOCK FROM THE CENTER OF THE
INTERSECTION OF MCCARTY STREET AND HART STREET TO THE CENTER OF
THE INTERSECTION OF MCCARTY STREET AND THE SOUTH CURB LINE OF
MCCARTY ST. ON HAVANNA ST. , IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
BY PAVING WITH PENETRATION BITUMINOUS 11ACADAY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OB' JEFFERSON,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION. I . Whereas , it was heretofore found and declared
by the City Council, by its resolution, passed and approved on
December IOth 1929 necessary to pave with penetration bituminous
macadam the roadway of McCarty Street in the block from the center
of the intersection of McCarty Street and Hart Street to the center
of the intersection of McCarty Street and the South curb line of
McC rty Street on Havanna Street and it appearing to the City
Council that said resolution has been duly published according to
the law for more than seven ( 7) consecutive insertions, in the
Capital-News a daily newspaper, printed and published in the City
of Jefferson, Missouri, and a majority of the resident owners of
property along said section of McCarty Street liable for the costs
of said improvement, and who own a majority of the front feet on
said McCarty Street intended to be improved., have not filed with
the City Clerk a protest against said contemplated improvement.
SECTION. 2. That the said road of McCarty Street, from
the center of the intersection of McC rty Street and Hart Street
to the center of the intersection of ReCArty Street and the South
curb line of McCarty Street on Havanna Street, be paved with
penetration bituminous macadam, curbed with cement concrete
material and graded where necessary, in accordance with the plans
and specifications submitted by the City Engineer and filed in the
office of the City Clerk, and that the total cost of the work
aforesaid shall be charged and levied as a special assessment
against the real estate abutting and fronting on said contemplated
improvement, and special tax bills shall be issued therefor, as
provided in the City Charter, and in Section 8229823,824,and 825 of
chapter 44 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri, 1925, and of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri,
1919, and amendments thereto.
SECTION. 3 . The City Engineer is hereby instructed to
advertise for bids for this improvements
SECTION. 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage and approval.
