HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD03284 85 together with all necessary laterals, inlets, catch basins, manholes, and other necessary appurtenances thereto appertaining, there is hereby levied and assessed against the several and hereinafter described `lots or pieces of ground within the bounds of said Sewer District No. 46, situated in the narne of the respective name of the owner or owners of said lots or pieces of ground, a special tax at the rate of $ 0.005484 per square foot for each and every square foot of ground so situated as aforesaid. SECTION. 2. Each of the lots or pieces of ground so mentioned and referred to in Section 1 of this Ordinance, against which a special tax bill is specified in Section 1 of this Ordinance is levied and assessed and the same is hereby levied and assessed and the -description of said lots or pieces of ground and the name of the owner or owners thereof in which the tax is levied and assessed and the cost per square foot and the amount assessed each lot or piece of ground in said Sewer District No. 46 situated in the name of the owner or owners thereof, the number of square feet owned by each property holder in the lots or pieces of ground owned by each owner in said Sewer District No. 46 is as follows: SECTION. 3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to proceed at once to make out special tax bills under the Seal of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, of the aforesaid amounts against said lots or pieces of land in the aforesaid Sewer District No. 46 situated, mentioned and described in the heretofore mentioned sections of this Ordinance in the name of the owner or owners thereof, which said special and certified tax bills shall be signed by the Mayor and attested and recorded by the City Clerk and delivered to Louis Brunner the contractor of the workof construction of the aforesaid sewers as provided and required by the Charter of Jefferson and the Ordinances authorizing and ordering the construction of sewers in said Sewer District No. 46, heretofore passed and approved by the Council. AN ORDINANCE TO APPROPRIA'T'E MONEY. ti'HEIREAS, on the 3rd day of March 19309 the Council of the City of Jefferson passed an Ordinance authorizing the appointment oa a Planning and Zoning Commission, as authorized in the Laws of 1925 (pp-307 to 313 inclusive) , as amended by the Laws of 1927 (pp. 355 and 356) ; and WHEREAS, it is desired to employ the services of a compe- tent Engineer or Engineers to make plans and recommendations to said Zoning and Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, it has been ascertained that the services of a competent Engineer or Engineers can be obtained to make a complete survey of the City of Jefferson, with a view to rAaking recommendations to the Zoning and Planning Commission of said City of Jefferson, for the sum of $ 7500.00; and WHERHAS, the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Jefferson has-9 through its Officials, expressed its willingness to pay one-half of the aforesaid sum of $7500.009 provided the City of Jefferson will pay the balance of $3750.00.
