HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD03285 86 Revenue Fund the sum of °,x`3750.00 to be used in paying for the services of an Engineer or Engineers to be employed to make a survey and return plans and ,recommendations to the Zoning and Planning Commission hereto fore authorized by the City Council; said appro- priation is made subject to the following conditions, to-wits That the Chamber of Commerce of the City of Jefferson shall appropriate a like amount of $3750.00 to be used for the same purpose as that for which this appropriation is made. SECTION. 2. The Zoning and Planning Commission is hereby authorized to enter into a contract and employ competent Engineer or Engineers to make plans, surveys and recommendations tosaid Commission, and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with such Engineer or Engineers so employed, obligating the City of Jefferson to pay $3750.00 to said Engineer or Engineers; provided however, that the payments shall be made as follows: One-fourth of said amount of $3750.00 shall be paid at the expiration of each three Months period after such Engineer or Engineers are employed and commence their work, except that the last payment of $937.50 shall not be made until after such Engineer or Engineers have made their final report and recommendations to tafid Commission. AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 266, REVISED ORDINANCES OF 1925, RELATING TO HOUGH PARK, AND TO ENACT A NEW SECTION IN LIEU THEREOF, RELATING TO THE SAYM SUBJECT. BE TT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS; SECTION. I. That Section 266 of the Revised -Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, 1925, be and the same is hereby repealed, and a new Section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as Section 266, and to read as follows; SECTION. 26¢. Board of Directors. - The Board of Directors for the management, supervision, control and government of the City park designated and known as Hough Park, consisting of the .tract and parcel of land containing 50 acres, given and conveyed to the City of . 4a. Jefferson, by Hon. Arthur ?F. Hough, by deed dated the 30th. day of % August, 1917, and recorded in book 45 at page 568, Cole County Recorder's Office, which said, gift and conveyance has been accepted by the City, shall consist of seven persons to be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council, and shall be, until otherwise provided by Ordinance, selected from the Officers and members of the voluntary association known as the "Hough Park Golf - Club ", which said association has, since the acceptance of said tract of land for use as a City Park, expended a large sum of money in the improvement thereof and in establishing golf links thereon, commonly known as the "Municipal Links", and proposes to further improve said Park. Said Directors shall qualify-by taking the oath of Office required of other City Officers . The members of said Board of Directors shall hold office for the .terms hereinafter specified, commencing on tb the Ist. day of April, and until their successors shall have been appointed and qualified. Upon the passage and approval of this " . Ordinance three members of said Board shall be appointed for a term of one year each. two members for a term of two years each, and two members for a terns of theee years each; and annually thereafter one member shall be appointed for a term of_ one year and two members for a term of three years, to succeed the memberi whose terms have expired.
