to pay the principal of said bonds at maturity, the following amounts
are hereby appropriated out of the current revenues of the City of
Jefferson for the fiscal year ending March 31st. 1931.
For interest due October Ist. 1930. - - 1500.00
For interest due April Ist. 1931- - - - 1500 .00
For principal due April Ist. 1931- - - 50000.00
Total - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 53000.00
It is hereby made the special duty of the Treasurer of the
City of Jefferson, for the purpose off' paying the principal and
interest on the above bands , to reserve the above amounts out of the
current revenues of said City which may come into his hands for the
fiscal year ending March 31st. 1931.
SECTION. 6. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval, and all Ordinances or parts
of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION. 7. The City of Jefferson, reserves the right to
redeem these bonds at any time upon payment of the principal thereof
and together with interest to date of redemption.

THE RE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, APPEARING AT P. 27,
AND P. 28 OF THE SUPPLEIv�2JTAL OR
OF THE CITY OF JEFFTRSON,
19291, RELATING TD POLICE OFFICERS AND TO ENACT TWO SECTIONS IN LIEU
THEREOF, RELATING TO THE, SAIUM SUBJECT .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CCU1fCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON;
AS FO'LLO NS:
:SECTION. I . That Section 719 and Section 719-A of the
Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, 19299 as the same
appear at PP. 27 and 28 of the Supplemental Ordinances of the City
of Jefferson, be and the same are hereby repealed and two new Sections
enacted in lieu thereof to be known respectfully as, Section 719 and
Section 719-A and to read as follows:
SECTION. 719. There is hereby created a Police Board
which shall -consist of three members of the City Council to be
appointed by the I,ayoz• at least ten days before the second regular
meeting of the Council after each City Election, and not more than
two of said members shall belong to the same political party. It
shall be the duty of said Board to consider the .question of eligibil-
ity and general qualifications of all applicants for positions on the
Police Force, such applicants to be submitted to the Police Board by
the I,'.arshal. The Marshal shall submit to the Police Board such ]Gist
of applicants as he may desire, in no event to be less than eight,
which names shall be submitted to the Police Board at least five
st days before the second regular meeting of the City Council after
each City Election. From the number of applicants so submitted to
the Police Board by the 1farshal the Police Board shall return to, the
> . bFarshal at least eight naves of qualifies and satisfactory officers.
Provided, however, that should the Marshal submit more than eight
names and the Board shall find that more than eight applicants are
qualified, to make satisfactory Police Officers the Board, if it so
chooses, nay return more than eight names to the harshal. In the
event that the police Board fails to approve at least eight names
