to the Police Board forthwith sufficient additional narles to make
up the list of eight Police Officers for the consideration of the
Police Board. It shall be the duty of the said Police Board to
frequently confer with the Marshal in the general supervision to see
that the Department is conducted properly and efficiently, and to
make such reeor=endations to the Council touching the needs of the
Department as such Board shall think proper.
SECTION. 719-A. It shall be the duty of the Marshal at or
before the second regular meeting of the Council after each City
Election to appoint eight Police Officers, for a term of one year,
from the list returned by the Police Board, which said appointments
shall be subject to the confirmation of the Council. Until such
time as the Police Board shall approve nominations by the Marshal to
the number' of eight Officers, said L'arshal may appoint eight Officers
temporarily. The Marshal may appoint one of the Police Officers,
so designated and confirmed, as Assistant 11arshal 6.9 in this Chapter
provided, who shall perform the duties of the Marshal at such time
as the Marshal is unable to act . Vacancies on the regular Police
Force shall be filled in the same manner as hereinabove provided.
SECTIUPT. 2. That Police Appointments for the year 1930
shall be made by and pursuance of this Ordinance.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF ME CITY OF JEFFERSON,
AS FOLLOWS:
There is hereby appropriated out of any money in the City
Treasury not otherwise appropriated the following;
REVENUE FUND.
For the purpose of paying the salaries of elective
and appointive officers, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -$4801. 66
For the purpose of paying weekly wages of laborers,
freight and incidentals under Street Commissioner, - - - •• - 500.00
For the purpose of paying the rent of Mayor's Office 40.00
VEHICLE FUND.
For the purpose of paying salary of Street Commissioner 225.00
For the purpose of paying weekly wages of laborers,
freight and incidentals under Street Commissioner, - - - - - - 1000.00
SEWER BOND FUND.
For the purpose of paying the salary of assistant
City Engineer- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -$ 125.00
For the purpose of paying weekly wages of laborers
