HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD03308 102 Dunklin and Washington Street; thence Northerly parallel with Washington Street, 87 feet; thence Vilesterly parallel with Dunklin Street, 42 feet ; thence Northerly parallel with Washington Street, 20 feet; thence Easterly parallel. with DunkI.in Street, 62 feet; thence Southerly parallel with Washington Street, 107 feet; thence Viesterly 20 feet to the point of beginning, all the owners of the property and adjacent lots abutting on and adjacent to said portions of said alley having petitioned said City Council to vacate and discontinue said portions of said alley as a part of the public thoroughfare of said City; said alley is hereby forever vacate and discontinued as a public thoroughfare and the power and right of reversion of said portions of said alley to the adjacent and abutting owners as is provided by the Statutes of the State of l issou•ri, is hereby fully confirmed, ratified and approved and the Mayor of this City is hereby authorized Ash and directed to execute and deliver all proper writings, or instru- ments for, on behalf or in the name of the City to fully and complete- ly establish and guarantee to the adjacent and abutting property owners their legal rights in connection with the above vacation of said portions ,of said alley. President of the Council. Mayor. NO. 330 3. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR Tfir,, LEVY OF CITY TAXES AND ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATICid FCR TN1s' CITY OF JEFFERSON, IvtISSOURI, FOR THE YEAR 1930 . BE IT ORDAINTD BY THE COUNCIL OF TILE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLL•CWS: SECTION. I . That there is hereby levied and assessed the following rate of taxes on all Real Estate and Personal property within the limits of the City of Jefferson, Lissouri, not exempt from taxation by the constitution or the haws of the State of Lissouri, as shown by the Assessment Book of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the year 1930, and on all Merchants and Manufacturers Statements, nade as provided by law. FIRST: For the purpose of paying all current expenses of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the fiscal year, the sum of 60 cents on the One Hundred Dollar Valuation. SECOND: For the purpose of paying the Interest on the outstanding bonds of the City of Jefferson, I'lissouri, and for the purpose of creating a sinking fund to retire the outstanding bonds of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of 25 cents on the One Hundred Dollar Valuation. THIRD: For the purpose of establishing and maintaining a free public library in the City of Jefferson, Yissouri , the sum of 5 cents on the One Hundred Dollar Valuation. FOURTIis For the -aurpose of retiring current :revenue bonds , an amount equal to five per cent of all money collected for current expenses shall be set aside in a special fund. SECTION. 2. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause to be extended in the appropriate columns, opposite each item of the taxable property on the assessment book, as returned by the assessor of the City of Jefferson, li:issouri, and corrected by the County Board of Equalization, the amount of taxes required to be paid by each. person assessed, as provided by Section I of this Ordinance .
