BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THIS. CITY OF J10' 'E'RS ON
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION. 1. Whereas, it was. heretofore found and
declared by the City Uouncil, by its resolution, passed and
approved on May 4th. , 1931 nece:=nary to pave with Penetration
Bituminous biacadam the roadway of Adams Street in the block from
the center of the intersection of Adams Street and Case Avenue to
the center of the intersection of Adams Street and Russell Avenue
and it appearing to the City "ouncil that said Resolution has
been duly published according to the law for more than seven (7)
consecutive insertions , in the Capital Ne,,vs a daily newspaper,
printed and published in the City of 4 efferson, 111issouri, and a
majority of the resident owners of property along said section of
Adams Street liable for th.e costs of said improvement, and who
own a majority of the front feet on said Adams Street intended to
be improved, have not filed with the City Clerk a protest against
said contemplated improvement.
SECTION. 2. That the said road of Adams :street be-
tween Case Avenue and Russell Avenue be graded, curbed and
guttered with cement concrete, and paved with penetration
bituminous Macadam in accordance with the plans and specifications
submitted by the City Engineer and filed in the office of the City
Clerk, and that the total cost of .the work aforesaid shall be
'i..'` . charged and levied as a special a.ssessment .a.gain.st the real estate
abutting and fronting on said contemplated improvement, aid
Special tax bills shall be issued therefor,. as. provided in the
City Charter, and in Section 8229823,824,and 825 of Chapter 44
of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, 19250
and. of the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri, 1919, and
amendments thereto.
SECTION. 3. The City Engineer is hereby instructed to
advertise •for bids for this Improvement.
SECTION. 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be
in force fror, and after its passage and approval.

No. 3397. AN ORDINANCE TO INCRI,ASE THE NUMBLR OF POLICE OFFICERS.
BE IT ORDAINIED BY TH1,1 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
y JEF15,2SON, AS FOLLOWS;
The City Marshal is hereby authorized to appoint two
A : (2) 9 regular police officers in addition to those now provided
for by Ordinance; said two additional police officers 'shall be
appointed in the same manner as police officers now provided for
by ordinance, and shall receive the same compensation, perform
the same duties, and shall serve for a period of one year from
the first Monday in bray, 1931.
