herein after provided.
SECTION. 2. It shall be unlawful for any parson, firm,
partnership, association or corporation to exercise, carry on or
engage in any business , occupation, vocation or trade in the City
of Jefferson, as hereinafter set forth, without first having obtained
a license therefor, from said City, and the charge for such license
shall be as follows: For each motortruck or riotor vehicle of any
kind used or operated upon the public streets, avenues or alleys of
the City of Jefferson for the purpose of Selling, exchanging, trad-
ing or trafficking in personal property, goods , wares or merchandise
of any kind, character or description, from said motortruck or
motor cehicle within the City limits of Jefferson City, the sum of
fifty ($50.00 ) dollars per year.
SECTION. 3 . It shall be unlawful for any person, firm,
partnership., association or corporation to operate or use, directly
or indirectly, upon the public streets, avenues or alleys of the
City of Jefferson, any motor truck or motor vehicle upon which there
is by the terms of this Crd.inance a license tax levied and fixed,
without having first had n,nd obtained a license therefor, and any
person, firm, partnership or corporation so doing.*, or assisting,
directly or indirectly, in so doing;, in any manner, either as owner
proprietor, or as an Officer, manager, superintendent, gent,, servant
or employee, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and of a separate and
distinct offense and 'misdemeanor under the provisions hereof for
each period of twenty four hours in which such truck or motor vehicle
is so used or operated upon the public streets , avenues or alleys of
said City, and shall be proceeded against as in the case of other
misdemeanors, and upon conviction thereof shall be fined for- such
offense in a sum of not less than five dollars nor more than one
hundred dollars, and the costs of prosecution.
SECT101!. 4 . This Ordinance shall not apply to persons,
firms, partnerships or corporations or their employees when using
trucks upon the streets of Jefferson City for the delivery of
agricultural or horticultural products, grown, raised or produced
by persons, firms or corporations delivering sarie or offering same
for sale, nor shall this Ordinance apply to the employees of such
person, firm or -corporation.
SECTION. 5. The license tax herein provided for shall be
collected by the City Collector and accounted for as other license
taxes . No license herein mentioned shall be issued until the amount
prescribed therefor .shall be paid to the City Collector, and no
license shall be assigned or transferred. All such licenses shall
be signed by the Citv Clerk and countersigned by the City Collector
and the Clerk shall affix the corporate seal of the City thereto.
In addition to the license which shall be issued, the City Collector
shall issue to each applicant a metal tag which shall be. kept .
exposed on said vehicle, in order that officials may know it is
licensed in th.e City of Jefferson.
>= SECTION. 6 . That any Crdinances or parts of Ordinances in
conflict with this Ordinance are hereby Eepealed, a nd this Ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its paBEiage and
approval.
