FOLLOWS:
SECTION. I . That the present sidewalk abutting the property
herein described is hereby condemned and ordered removed and, That
a sidewalk of cement concrete material , six feet in t.iidth , 8.4 feet
back from back of curb, on the North side of LcCarty Street, between
Madison and Yonroe Street, and abutting 65 feet on 1cCarty Street ,
owned by Chas . F. Smith , being the Southerly part of Inlot 480, be
constructed and built within thirty days from the service of a copy
of this Ordinance on the owner of the property hereinabove described.
SECTION. 2. Within two days after the passage of this
Ordinance, the City Clerk shall place in the hands of the City Larshal
a certified copy of this Ordinance, and said City Larshal shall serve
or cause to be served a copy of this Ordinance on the owner or owners
above mentioned , 'by delivering a. copy hereof to said owner or owners
or by leaving it with some meriber of his family over the age of 1.5
years, making his return on another copy of said Ordinance, which
copy shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk.
SECTIGN. 3. In the event the owner or owners above named
fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, then 'the City of
Jeff. ,rson, under the power and authority given it by its charter and
Ordinances , will construct said sidewalk and will issue a special
tax bill against said property for the cost of the construction of
said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien against the
property above described.
SECTION. 4 . This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
