SEC'T'ION. I . On and after the passa.f,;e and approval of this
Ordinance, no license to enga.g-e in the public ta.xica.b business in the
City of Jefferson -,hall be issued to the nnnlicn.nt therefor by the
Collector of the City of Jefferson until and after such applicant has
filed with the City Clerk, and the same has been approved ti:y the Z.ayor,
a liability insi1.ra.nce policy or bond in some Insurance Company or
Association, or other Insurers auth'oriz'ed to transact business in the
State of 14issouri, which liability insurance shall bind the obligors
thereunder to rna.lce compensation for damage to or destruction of any
propert of one or more persons to a ma.ximun amount of one thousand
and no700 dollars (31, 000. ) , by reason of the applicant 's legal
liability fos dasa agres in consequence of any one accident resulting
from the negligent operation or use of any public taxi cab used in
such public taxi cab business , and which liability insurance, shall
