HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD03492 2213 N0. 3491. AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR TI-IL LEVY OF CITY TAXLS AND ESTABLISHING THE RATE OF TAXATION FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ' FOR THE YEAR 1932. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FCLLOWS: SECTION. I. That there is hereby levied and assessed the following rate of taxes on all Real Estate and Personal property within the limits of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, not exempt from taxation by the Constitution or the Laws of the State of Missouri, as shown by the Assessment book of the bity of Jefferson, Missouri, for the year 19329 and an all Merchants-and IJtanufacturers -Statements , made as provided by law. FIRST$ For the purpose of payin all current expenses of the . City of Jefferson, Missouri, for the iscal Year, the sum of 60 cents on the One Hundred Dollar Valuation. SECOND: For the purpose of paying the interest on the outstand- Ang bonds of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and for the purpose , of creating a sinking fund t��� retire the outstanding bonds of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,`�including certain Judgment funding bonds in the total amount of $71,08 .72, not yet issued but which said bonds were authorized by vote of ggalified electers of the City of Jefferson, at a Special Election held I,17ay 31, 1932,] the sum of 28_,_ cents on the One Hundred Dollar Valuation. J THIRD: For the purpose of establishing and maintaining a Free ` Public Library in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, the sum of 5 cents on the One Hundred Dollar Valuation. SECTION. 2. It shall be the duty of the City Clerk to cause to be extended in the appropriate columns, opposite each item of the taxable property on the Assessment book, as returned by the Assessor of the .City of Jefferson, Missouri, and corrected by the County Board of Equalization, the amount of taxes required to be paid by each person assessed, as provided by Section I of this Ordinance. SECTION. 3. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION. 4. AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL SECTION 309, ARTICLE III, CHAPTER 269 REVISED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, 19259 RELATING TO LICENSES, AND TO EIVkCT IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW ORDINANCE TO BE KNOVlN AS SECTION 309, AIM RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS: That Section 309, Article III, Chapter 26, Revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, 1925, be and the same is hereby repealed, and a new Ordinance enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as Section 309, relating to the same subject, and to read as follows: Section: 309. All shows, exhibitions or amusements exhibiting for -pay within said City, other than those hereinbefore mentioned, shall before giving any public exhibition for pay within the said City of Jefferson, take out a license therefor, and shall pay for suc4 license the sum of five dollars for each and every day such show, exhibition or amusement shall be open to the public.
