Seotion 1, That the oily aounoil hereby finds and declares that it
is neoessary to repair, surface and resurfaoe, at a cost not
exceeding sixty cents(60) per front foot, the following described
streets;
Hoofer Lane, beginning at they intersection of Hoofer
and the northerly line of High street, thence along the roadway
of Hoefex" Lane to River Zane, thence over River Lane from
Hoofer Lane to Pierce Street, thence over Pierce street from
River Lane to Hough street, thence over Hough street from River
Lane to its intersection with Grant street; All of said im-
provement to be within the limits of sprinkling, oiling repairing,
surfacing and resurfacing District Number foyer, of the City of
Jefferson, and all of said work to be done according to plans and
specifications on file with the city clerk.
Section 29 The City Council finds and declares it id advisable
and to the best interests of the owners of property to be charged
with the cost of said work; that the said work shall be done by
the city without letting a contract therefor, and that the street
commissioner is hereby directed to purchase the necessary
materials and employ the necessary labok for the performance of
said work, and shall superintend the same and keep an accurate
account of the cost thereof.
Seation 3. The cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfacing
shall be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in favob of
the city of Jefferson on the adjoining property fronting or
bordering on the dtreets where such work is done, in proportion
that the linear feet of AW each lot fronting or bordering
thereon. bears to the total number of linear feet of all property
chargeable with the tax aforesaid, in the territory embraced with-
in this ordinance. Special tax bills shall be issued, evidencing
such assessment, and shall become liens on said property, and
shall be issued" and +enforced as provided by law.
Section 4. Cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfacing
,Tall not exceed the sum of sixty (60) cents per front foot,
per annum, on property abutting upon the streets afonesaid.
Section 59 All 6rdinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinaries are hereby repealed.
Section B. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its
passoge and approval.

JULY $Afftl 1933.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON AS FOLLOWSs
Section 1. There is hereby appropriated out of any money in the
City Treadury not otherwise appropriates the following;
REVENUE FUND.
For purpose of paying Bldg. & Loan dues 19.20
For the purpose of paying salaries of elective and
appointive officers 4784.99
TRAFFIC & VEHICLE FUND.
For the purpose of paying salary Street Commissioner 208.33
Traffic Officer 125.00
