That the city Council hereby finds and declares that it is necessary to repair, surface and resurface, at a cost not exceeding sixty ( 60) cents per front foot, the following described street; Miller Street from the inte reaction ofMiller street and Clark Ave. to the intersection of Miller street and Vetter street,. all of said improvements to be within the limitsot sprinkling,oiling repairing, surfacing and resurfacing District number nine of the City of Jefferson,Mis�,,ouri, and all of said work to be done ao ording to , �f the plans and specifications on file with the City Clerk. council Section 2. The Cityjinds and declares it is advisable and to the best interests of the owners of property to be charged with the cost of --aid work; that the said work shall be dine by the City without letting a contract therefor, and that the Street Commissioner is hereby directed to purchase the necessary mateials and employ the necessary labor for the performance of said work, and shall superintend the dame and keep an accurate account of the cost thereof. Section 3. The cost of sdeh repairing, surfacing and resurfacing dhall be defrayed by a special tax, to be assessed in favor of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, on the adjoining property fronting or borddring on the dtreet whero such work is done, in proportion that the linear feet of each lot fronting or bord6ring thereon bears to the total number of linear feet of all property chargeable with. the tax aforesaid, 'in the territory embraced within this ordinance. Special tax bills shall be issued, evidencing such assessment, and shall become liens on said property, and ahall beissued and enforced as provided by law. Section 4. Cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfacing shall not exceed the sum of sixty (60) cents per front foot, per annum on property abut*ing the street aforesaid. Section 5. All' ordinanoes or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinan ce are hereby repealed. Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval/ Passed. BE IT ORDAINED BE THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON AS FOLLOWS. Sao, I. All vehicles shall be brought to a full stop at the follow ing street intersections. On Ash street immediately before being driven into the Intersection of Ash and High street. On Hoefer lane immediately before being driven into the intersection of Hoefer Lane and High street. On Ash immediately before being driven into the intersection of Ash and McCarty streets. Section 2. Any driver of a vehicle failing to comply with- the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than three dollars nor more than one hundred dollars.
