RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING REVISIONS TO THE POST
BOULEVARD TO INCLUDE IMPROVEMENTS TO VARIOUS
ROADWAYS AND AUTHORIZING A CHANGE ORDER
WHEREAS, the Borough o£Carteret ("the Borough") has obtained a grant from the
New Jersey Department o£the Transportation ("NJDOT") to perform certain road
improvements to Post Boulevard; (the "Project"); and
WHEREAS, the Borough will successfully complete the Project below the allotted
grant amount; and
WHEREAS, the excess funds may be used to improve adjoining roads, upon
approved by NJDOT upon reviewing ora revised grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Mayor
and Council of the Borough of Carteret that the Borough of Carteret is hereby
directed to prepare a revised grant application to include improvements to the streets
of Main, Vermont, NewYork, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware Avenue;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon approval by NJDOT the contract with
Mount Hope Paving Contractors be amended in an amount not to exceed the
difference between the sum of the original contract amount and engineering costs
incurred at $164,000.00;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, Municipal Clerk and Borough
Engineer are hereby authorized to execute such documents as are necessary to carry
out the intended purpose of this Resolution:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this contract modification shal be advertised
as prescribed by law.
