That the City Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it deems it Necessary for the health and comfort of the inhabitants of the City, and for sanitary purposes that there must be constricted as soon as possible in Sewer District No. 55, as established by ordinance, a sanitary sewer and it is ordered that the same be made and constructed without anecessary delay that the, said district sewer be connected with and into the manhole at the center of the Boonville Road. 4 feet south of the Township line. SECTION 2. That said sewer ^hn,ll begin at -the septic tank that lies in the center of F6rest Elate, 40 feet south of the Township line; thence northeasterly 250 feet to a point 4 feet south of the Township line; thence east parallel with the Township line 800 feet to the Boonville Road. SECTION 3 . Said sewer shall be constructed of standard glazed sewer pipe, grade A cast iron and spigot pipe and shall be constructed according to the plans and specifications of the City Engineer and constructed in all respects as pr6vided by ordinance. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and, be in force from and after its passage and approval. OF JEFFERSON, I9259 AUTHORITY TO USESTITUTE MOTOR BUS SERVICE IN LIEU OF ELECTRIC STREET CARS, AMEND THE REGULAR ROUTING THEREOF, AND AMEND THE TI?,:E SCHEDULES THAT MORE EFFICIENT STREET TRANSPORTATION SERVICE MAY BE FURNIDHED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWSs SECTION I . That the right, permission and authority be and the same is hereby granted and given to the Itiiissouri Power and Light Company, a domestic corporation, and successor to the Jefferson City Bridge and Transit Company, a corporation,, duly { referred to in Ordinance No. 1250. at page 387 of the revised Ordinances of the City of Jefferson, and to grantee herein suc- cessors, lesxees , and assigns to substitute motor bus service in lieu of the present existing electric street car service. SECTION 2. That the grantee is to, within one hundred and twenty (I20) days after passage and approval of this ordinance, remove all poles and overhead construction of the present existing_ trolley system from the streets of the city, save and except such poles as may now be used and useful to support other wires in connection with grantee's electric system and that of the Capital City Telephone Company. 4 SECTION 39 That the regulary established routes for said motor buses, and in lieu of the present existing electric street car se- vice, is as follows, to-wit; Beginning near the western limits of the City of Jefferson on the west Main Street at 31ast Circle Drive. thence running is an easterly direction along west Main Street to the intersection of West uLain Street and High Street, thence runnin, - :iii ­n eo,sterly direction on 'Hi(-Jj btrec.t; Ito Ash Ntr6e,ty Thence couth on Ash Street to Me Carty Street, thence cast on h1c Carty Street to Clark Avenue to h1orela.nd avenue, being the p present terminus of the electric street car System. SECTION 4 . That the present existing tracks are to be permitted to remain in the present street pavements until such time as the City Council may decide to ma ke major improvements in said streets, and, upon request from the City Council, Grantee agrees to promptly take up and remove any and all of said rails and ties from the streets; provided further, that until said rails, are so removed, the city reserves the right in its ordinary street repair work to make any necessary fill-in around or over said rails if it so desires, SECTION 5. The words "major" street improvement 's as used herein, are declared to mean a unit of one city block or multible thereof, improved or to be improved by constructing pavement over the street from a primary base, provided, however that a pavement construction from a primary base of that portion of a street now utilized by granitee, with itd cross ties and steel rails shall be constructed to be a major street improvement, wlgether the remainder of said street pavement is reconstructed or not. SECT6N 6. The fare for transportation of passengers shall be five (® 5) cents for one continuous one way ride for one person between any two points on said motor bus route hereinbefore described, and shall not exceed one-half of said fare for childern under twelve years of age and over six years of age. Children under six years of age, accompanied by parent or guardian, shall be allowed to ride free. Children's tickets shall be sold on buses by the condictor,. and at the office of grantee, at the rate of two tickets for five cents, and shall be accepted and honored for transportation of childf'en under twelve and over six years of age, All duly qualified and acting policeman And fireman of the City of Jefferson, in uniform, shall ride free of charge. SECTION 7. All buses shall be equipped with headlights and the interior thereof shall be kept lighted and shall be heated whwn necessary. All buses will be equipped with pneumatic; tires and with signalling devices. SECTION 8. Nothing herein contained shall be construed,' as limiting the lawful exercise of police powers of the City of i Jefferson with reference to the use of its streets and the oper- ation of motor bus service thereover, SECTION 9. Grantee shall be required to compl,* with all ruses, and regulations, laws and ordinances which may be in legal effect, from time, to time, but nothing herein contained ahall be construed as a surrender or release by grantee of its rights or priveleges guaranteed under the laws of the State of Missouri. SECTION I0. Grantee shall provide itself with motor bus- es of standard type, having a seating capacity of not less than seventeen (I7) passengers each, sufficient in number to operate regular service upon the routes hereinabove described. Said buses shall be operated upon such a schedule or headway as the traffic may require but in event not less than fifteen (1,5) minutes, but such service shall be subject to modification from time to time, both as to headway and as to hours of service, as the conditions of the traffic shall require and shall justify, SECTION II. appropriate curb zones for ,both loading and unloading passengers shall be provided at all street intersections traversed by said routesp the particular location thereof, the non-parking street requirements with length of curb reserved for loading and unloading passengers shall be under the supervision of the Council or Committee to which such jurisdiction is delegated.
