and material to be used in said project, and the said Mayor is
hereby instructed to furnish with said application, all necessary
copies of ordinance,plans, estimates. and all other necessary data
that may be required by said Federal Emergency Administration
of Public Works.
SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Jefferson pledges
itself that should the loans and grants hereinbefore mentioned be
made by the Federal Government, that the various amounts of the
Loans and grants herein authorized will be used by the City of
Jefferson to defray the cost of labor and material on the three
projects, herein mentioned, and that in letting the contracts for
said projects, which will be done as the appl.ica.tions mentioned
herein are acted upon, the City of Jefferson, through its City
Council, pledges itself to meet all the requirements of the Federal
Government relative to the wages to be paid various types of labor
and all other mattes incident to the public works with the aid of
the Federal Government loans or grants.
SECTION 3. The Council of the City of Jefferson further
pledges itself that immediately upon the granting of 'the loans
and grants hereinbefore mentioned, the Council will issue negotiable
bonds heretofore authorized by the assent of two thirds of the
voters voting at the election, said bonds being a direct obligation
against the taxable property of the City of Jefferson, and
being within the constitutional limitations on bond indebtedness,
and that such bonds will be in such form and bear such rate of
interest, not to exceed six per cent, (6%), as the Federal emerg-
ency Administration of Public Works shall direct.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.

#360I AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON TO MADE AN APPLICATION TO THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY
ADMINISTRATION OF PUBLIC WORKS, FOR GRANT OF FUNDS TO BE USED TE THE
CONSTRUCTION OF SEVMR DISTRICT NUIMER FIFTY•-FIVE.
WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Jefferson did, on the
20th. day of November, I933 declare that the creation and constru-
ction of Sewer, District Number Fifty-five in the City of Jefferson
is necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of
the City of Jefferson, and did create said district, defining its
boundaries by the passage of Ordinance Number 3596; and,
WHEREAS, It is the understanding of the Council of the City
of Jefferson that the Federal Government, through the Federal Emer-
ency Administration of Public Works, ma3t make a grant of thirty
30%) per cent of the cost of labor and material to be used in the
construction of said Sewre District NumbernFifty-Five.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THR COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON AS FOLLOWSt
SECTION I. That the Mayor of the City of Jefferson is hereby
instructed and directed to apply to the above mentioned Federal Em-
ergency Administration of Public Works for a grant to the amount of
thirty (30%) per cent of the cost of labor and material to be used
in the construction of Sewer District NUMBER Fifty-Five, and the
said Mayor of the City of Jefferson is hereby instructed to ,furnish
with said application, all necessary copies of ordinances, plans,
estimates and all othe necessary data that may b9 required by the
