' BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Jefferson
City, Missouri$ as follows;
Section 1. That U. S. Highway 58 from the intersection
with Yc Carty Street to "Station 850 be paved on the present

grade in accordance with plans and specifications therefore on
file at the office of the City Clerk, a copy of which plane in
hereto attached, said plans and specifications being made a part
of this ordinance by 'reference.
Section 2. The cost of said work is to be borne by
Federal funds as a part of the present Emergency Releif measures
and .tarried 'out under the supervision of the Missouri 'State
Highway,Depattment
The plans and specifications herewith attached are
approved by the City .Officers as required by law.

WHERMAS, it is the understanding of the Council of the City
of Jefferson, the Federal Goverment, through the Federal Emeeittney
. Administration of Public Works, will make loans to said City in
the sm amount of the bonds hereinbefore mentioned, plus a grant
of thirty per cent. , (30%49 of the cost of labor and material to
be used in the erection of said fire stations.
NOW TBRIMPOR,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS
FOLLOgVS i
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Jefferson, Missourip
is hereby instructed and directed to apply to the Federal
Emergency Administration of Public Works for loan in the amount
of Thirty—five Thousand Dollars, ($35,O0O.00) , said money to
be used for the erection and construction of fire stations, and
the said Mayor is further instructed to apply for grant of thirty
per cent. (3090, of the cos$ of labor and material to be used in
the construction and erection of said fire stations, and said
Mayor is further instructed to furnish with said application all
necessary copies of ordinances, plans, estimates and all other
necessary data that may be required by the said Federal Emergency
Administration of Public Works.
SECTION 2. The Council of the City of Jefferson Pledges itself
that should the loan and grant hereinbefore mentioned be made by ~'
the Federal Goverment, that the loan and grant herein requested
will be used by the City of Jefferson to defray the cost of Ubor
and material in the erection of said fire stations, and that in
letting the contract for said project, which will be done as soon
as the application mentioned herein is acted upon, the City
Council; pledges itself to meet all the requirements of the Federal
Goverment relative to wages to be paid various types of labor and
all other matters incident to public works with the aid of Federal
Goverment loans and grants.
SECTION 3. The Council of the City of Jefferson further pledge
itself that immediately upon the granting of the loan and grant
hereinbefore mentioned, the Council will issue negotiable direct
obligation bonds heretofore authorized by assent of two thirds (2
of the voters voting at a lawful election, and that such bonds wi
be in such form and bear rate of interest not to exceed six per
cent. , (6%) as the Federal Emergency Administration of public Works
shall direct.
SECTION 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with this ordinance be and the same are hereby repealedi
SECTION 5." This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.
