^^ _ WHEREAS, The City Council deems tt becessary to acquire a play
ground site for colored children in the City of Jefferson, and,
WHEREAS, The Prdperty hereinafter described is considered suit-
able for such use.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
AS FOLLOWS, TO-WITt
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Jefferson is hereby
authorizwd to purchase for and on behalf of the City of Jefferson the
following described real estate to-wit;
"LOTS 69, 709 71, 72, 73, 74, and 75 of Little and Keyes Sub-
division of 'Outlots 15And 16 in the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
now owned by Russell T. Keyes of Jefferson City, Missouri, for the sum
of $ 200.00 .
Also lots 76, '779 78, 799 80, 810 429 439 449 45, 469 47, 439
499 50, 519 52,53, and 54 of Little and Keyes Subdivision of Ou:klote
15 and 16 -in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, now owned by Betty Fe
Brown, for the sum of $ 200.00.
Be ' it further ordained that the Mayor be directed and instructed
to accept title in- the name of the City of Jefferson, Missouri* and
upon the furnishing of proper warranty deeds by the above named parties
to the above named property, the Clerk is directed to draw a warrent
in the sum• of, $ 2oo.00 payable to Russell T. Keyes and a warrant in the
sum 'of $ 200.00 -payable to the said Bettie F. Brown which warrants Shall
be delivered to the Mayor of the City of Jefferson, Who shall Deliver
said warrants to the Payees therein named, and upon delivery said Mayor
shall receive proper acknowledgement of warranty deeds to the property
hereinbefore described.

{� 3659 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, TO EXECUTE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, A CONTRACT WITH THE POPE
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.
VEREAS, on the 13th day of August, 1934 bids were submitted by
various *construction companies and contractors for the construction
of sewers and 'a sewage lift- station in Sewer District No. 55. in the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, and.
WHEREAS, ' the Pope Construction Company, a corporation, of
Jefferson, City, Missouri, was the lowest and best bidder, and submitted
a. bid to construct the neccesary sewage lift station and sewer in
Sewer 'District Number 55, for the sum of Nine Thousand Seven Hundred
Seventy Two 'Dollars and Forty Cents ($99972.40) , said work when Completed,
to comply in all respeots with the plans and specifications as prepared
and filed in the Office of the City Clerk by the City Engineer.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS, TO-WITt
Section 1. That the Mayor of the City Jeffersbn, Missouri,
be and he is hereby instructed to execute a contract on behalf of the
City of Jefferson, Missouri, with the Pope Construction Company,
a. corporation, obligating the City of Jefferson, Missouri, for payment
to the extent of 30°0 of the cost of labor and materials amounting to
approximately Seventeen Hundred Dollars ($1700) 9 to. be paid in cash
at the completion of the acceptance of the work, the balance of the
cost to be paid in Special Tax Dills issued against the property,
within the limits of Sewer District No. 55, in compliance with the
plans and specifications heretofore mentioned.
