AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRI CTION OF A SIDE117AIX OF CEMENT CONCRETE MATERIAL, FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, SIX INCHES BACK FROM BACK OF CURB, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF HIGH STREET, BETWEEN BENTON AND HOEFER LANE STREET, AND ABUTTING 363 FEET ON HIGH STREET OWNED BY BWIA B. MAYNES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLOWS# SECTION. I. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material, four feet in width, six inches back from back of curb$, on the North side of high Street, between Benton and Hoefer Lane Streets, and abutting 363 feet on High Street, owned by Emma B. Mayens, be constructed and built within thirty days from the service of a copy of this Ordinance on the owner of the property hereinabove described. SECTION. 2. Within two days after the passage of this Ordinance, the City "lerk shall place in the hands of the City Marshal a certified copy of this Ordinance„and said City Marshall shall serve or cause to be served a copy of this Ordinance on the owner or owners above mentioned by. delivering a copy hereof to said owner or owners 6r by leaving it with some member of his family over 'the age of 15 years$, making his return on another copy of said ordinance, which copy shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk. ` SECTION. 3. In the event the owner or owners above named fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, them the City of Jefferson,, under the power and authority given it by its charter and Ordinances, will construct said sidewalk and will issue a special tax bill against said property for the cost of the construction of said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien against the property above described. SECTION. 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and. after its passage and approval. PASSED November 4th, 1935.
