AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK OF CEMENT CONCRETE MATERIAL, FOUR FLET IN WIDTH, SIX INCHES BACK FROM FACE OF CURB, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HIGH STREET, BETWEEN BENTON AND LOCUST STREETS AND ABUTTING 100 FEET IN FRONT OF LOT 9 SUBDIVISION OF OUTLOTS 55 and 56 OWNED BY LOUIS BRUNNER BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JLFIPERSON, AS FOLLOWSs SECTION. I. That a sidewalk of cement concrete material, four feet in width, six inches back from face of curb, on the South side of High Street between Benton and Locust Streets, and abutting 100 feet in front of Lot 9 Subdivision of Outlots 55 and 56 owned by Louis,Brunner be constructed and built within thirty days from the service of a copy of this ordinance on the owner of the property hereinabove described. SECTION. 2. Within two dpys after the passage of this Urdinance, the City Clerk shall place in the hands of the City .Marshal a certified copy of this Ordinance, and said City Marshall shall serve or cause to be served a copy of this Ordinance on the owner or owners above mentioned, by delivering a copy hereof to said owner or owners or by leaving it with some member of his family over the age of 15 years, making his return on another ebpy of said Ordinance, which copy shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk. SECTION. 3. In the event the owner or owners above named fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City of Jefferson, under the powor and authority given it by its charter and Ordinances, will construct said sidewalk and will issue a special tax bill against sa:d property for the cost of the construction of said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien against the property above described. SECTION. 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and 4fter its passage and approval.
