SECTION. 3. The cost of such repairing, surfacing a.nd resurfacing
shall be defrayed by a. special tax, to be asses.,_-ed in favor of the City
of Jefferson, Yissouri, on the adjoining property fronting or bordering
on the Street where such work is done, in proportion that the linear
feat of each lot fronting or bordering thereon bears to the total
number of linear feet of all property chargeable with the tax aforesaid
in the territory embraced within this Ordinance. Speeital tax bills shall
be issued, evidencing such assessment, and shall become liens on laid
property, and. shall be issued and enforced as provided by law.
SECTIOI4. 4. Cost of such repairing, surfacing and resurfacing
shall not exceed the sum of sixty (0.60) cents per front foot per
a annum, on property abutting the street aforesaid.
SECTION. 5. All Ordinances or parts or Ordinances in conflict
with this Ordinance are hereby repealed.
SECTION. 6. This Ordinance shall take effect pnd be in force
from and after its pas,nge and approval.

BE IT OP,DAIIIRD BY TIM' CITY COIINCIL OF THE CITY OF TEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION. I . It appearing from the written report of the City
Engineer, the Of'icer in charge of the work of construction and completing
sewers and sewage lift station in Sewer District No. 50, P. J.A. Docket
No. 1015 R. in the City of Jefferson, Missouri, heretofore submitted
by said. Officer to the City Council and approved a.nd accepted by it on
this 6th d:a.y of July 1936 at a. Regular 1.7eeting of the 9ity 9ouncil held
on this date, that the total cost of construction as constructed,
amountsto the sum of $37,416.52, and that the United States of America
thru the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, has agreed
to aid in the financing the construction of sewers and. sewage lift
station on the above project in the amount of fortyfive (45110) per cent
of the cost of the Project upon completion, �nd it further appearing
that 45% of the total cost above would be $16,837.439 leaving $2095"79.09
as the total cost to paid for by .the issuance of Special Tax bills in
favor of the Contractor against the property in the boundary lines of
Sewer District No.50.
SECTION. 2. The City Clerk is hereby instructed to proceed at
once to make out Special Tax bills under the Seal of the vity of Jefferson
Missouri, to the total amount of $p20#579.09 in favor of the Contractor
the- Pope lonstruction "ompa.ny, which said special and certified tax
bills shall be signed by the Mayor and attested and recorded by the City
Clerk, as provided and required by the Charter of the Uity of Jefferson,
Missouri ,
SECTION. 3. The City Clerk is hereby instructed and. directed,
upon receipt of the grant in the amount of $169837.43 from the Federal
Emergency Administration of Public Works to pay to the Pope Construction
Company the balance due them on their contract on the above Project.
SECTION. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage and approval.
