AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SIDEWALK OF CEMENT CONCRETE MATERIAL, FOUR FEET IN WIDTH, TWO FEET BACK FROM FACE OF CURB, ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF MAIN STREET, BETWEEN JORDAN STREET AND FOREST PLACE, AMID ABUTTING 313.8 FEET ON MAIN STREET OMD BY BLANCHE DIX DEXTER. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, AS FOLLO*S: SECTION. I . That a sidewalk of cement concrete material, Four feet in width, Two feet back from face of curb, on the Louth side of Main Street, between Jordan street and Forest Place and abutting 313.8 feet on Main Street owned by Blanche Dix Dexter be constructed and.built within thirty days from the service of a copy of this Ordinance on the owner of the property hereinabove described. SECTION. 2. within two days after the passage of this Ordinance the City Clerk shall place in the hands of the City Marshal a certified copy of this Ordinance, and said City Marshal shall serve or cause to be served a copy of this Ordinance on the owner or owners above mentioned by delivering a copy hereof to said owner or owners or by leaving it with some member of his family over the age of 15 years, raking his return on another gopy of said Ordinance, which copy shall be filed in the office of the ity Clerk. SECTION. 3. In the event the owner or owners above named fail to construct said sidewalk as above directed, then the City of oefferson, under the power and authority given it by its Charter and Ordinances, will construct said sidewalk and will issue a special tax bill against said property for the cost of the construction of said sidewalk, which said special tax bill will be a lien against the property above described.
