Lockport Street Attendees: Brian Davis, Harold Oliver, Janet Scott (representing Pat Harbour), Michael Blaylock, Mike Paris, and Steve Pre ze. Also: Brian Murphy, Michael Garrigan, Jon Proulx, and Amy De Boni . Vice Chair Steve Preze called the meeting to order at 7:42 a .m. Anna Trost, Greg Schaefer, Michael Konrad, Pat Harbour, Tim Stetenfeld, Troy Strange, and Rick Kaczanko were absent. Public Comme nts: None . Business Meeting Motion was made by Brian Davis, second by Mike Paris, to approve t he minutes of the April 10, 2013 Meeting. Motion passed: 6 -0 . Michael Garrigan updated the Task For ce on Heritage Meadows Center. DuPage Medical Group bought one of the building s and a closure is pending on the other building. The new owner will be more aggressive on filling the center and more realistic about rental rates. The landlord at the former Barnes & Noble is talking to prospect ive tenants and Staples is still empty. Michael Blaylock inquired about the NE co r ne r of 119 th Street and Route 59. Michael Garrigan updated the Task Force on Prairie Creek, the parcel north of Chicago Bridge & Iron. Several businesses are looking at the site . There is a residential parcel in the back that multi -family developers are looking at . There are also 4 -5 outlots still available in front of Meijer. Brian Murphy shared with the Task Force that The Springs at 127 th is Continental Properties second fastest lease up. Th e Task Force discussed their th ou ght s on the rental market. Steve shared t hat apartments are still popular and as rate s go up, they will still be popular. Michael Garrigan stated that the newly expanded Mega Sports is receiving rave reviews. Staff is looki ng for feedback on the corridor; the Task Force briefly discussed a TIF District. Staff updated the Task Force on new businesses in the community including Chipotle, Which Wich, McDonald’s, Capri, Simply Saucy, What’s New, and Starbucks, as well as the Coil Plus and Vintage Tech projects. Michael Garrigan led a brief discussion regarding residential trends in Plainfield. The Village had 112 new home permits last year. There is an uptick in the interest of national builders . Pulte is building at Dayfield, NVR/Ryan is building at The Streams, and Frontier is building in Creekside. The average home price is $280,000. Amy De Boni mentioned that the Village would be reaching out to retailers in August and September regarding retention visit s . Brian Davis highlighted that Edward and El mhurst Memorial recently merged. Steve Preze mentione d that he is now with PNC Bank. Mike Paris reported that there is a slight uptick in manufacturing.
