AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds and declares that
it is necessary to repair, surface rand resurft ice at a cost not ex-
ceeding sixty (0.60) cents per front foot, the following described
streets :
McCarty Street from the center of the intersection of Mc Carty
Street and Hamlin Street to the center of the t intersection of McCarty
Street and Hnrt Street, all of said improvement to be within the limits
of sprinkling oiling, repairing, surfacing nd resurfacing District
N tuber Six of the City of Jefferson, Alissouri, and all of said work
to be done according; to the plans and specifications of the said City
of Jefferson, Yissouri .
SECTION 2. The Council finds and declares it is advisable to the
best interests of tae owners cf property to be charged with the cost
of said work; that the said work shah be done by the City without 1
letting a contrast therefor, and that the Street Commissioner is hereby
directed to nurchase Vne necessary materials and employ the necessary
labor for the performance of said worlc, ^nd shall superintend the same'
and keep all .r.ccounts and nn accurate account of the cost thereof.
SECTION 3. The cost of such ep:airhng, surfacing and resurfacing
small be defrayed by a. special t:-x, to be assessed in favor of the City
of Jefferson, I;;issouri., on the adjoining property fronting or bordering
on the said street where such work is done, in proportion that the
linear feet of each lot fronting or bordering thereon bears to the
total nunber r.f linear feet of all ?property chi:.rge;-Lble with tax aforesaid .
in the territory epapraced within this .ordinance. Special tax bills
sha.11 be issued evidencing such assessment, n.nd shall become liens on
said Taro-oert ,, ^nd. shall be issued a.nd enforced o.ao _arovided by law.
SECTION 4. Cost of such repairing surf-acing a-nd .resurfacing
shall not exceed the sum of si=xty (0.60 cents per front foot per
