A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS
APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT FOR THE
SOUTH GRAPEVINE HIGHWAY CORRIDORS STRATEGY;
PROVIDING FOR NOTICE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Richland Hills is a home rule city acting under its charter
adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5 of the Texas Constitution and
Chapter 9 of the Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City of North Richland Hills is a home rule city acting under its
charter adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5 of the Texas
Constitution and Chapter 9 of the Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of Richland Hills desires to enter into an
undertaking jointly with the City of North Richland Hills to promote the planning and
implementation of measures for the revitalization of the South Grapevine Highway,
South Rufe Snow and Glenview Corridors, which revitalization is a mutual concern, and
which roadway corridors are located within both cities; and
WHEREAS, the agreement provides for the appointment of two councilmembers
from each city to serve on an oversight committee to begin identifying and making
recommendations of funding efforts, and provides for the appointment of two or more
staff members to serve as a technical committee to provide technical and background
assistance to the oversight committee;
WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated and drafted an interlucal agreement to
facilitate this undertaking, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS:
1.SECTION
ORDER
The City Council hereby approves the interlocal agreement which is attached
hereto as Exhibit A.
2.SECTION
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENTS
The City Council hereby appoints Kenney Davis and Jim McKnight as the
councilmembers to serve on the joint oversight committee; and authorize the city
manager to appoint the staff members to serve as the technical committee referenced
above and in the interlocal agreement.

NOTICE
Upon adoption of this Resolution, the City Secretary is directed to give notice of
this resolution in the manner required bylaw.
4.SECTION
AUTHORIZATION OF NECESSARY ACTIONS
The Mayor and the City Secretary, in consultation with the City Attorney, are
authorized and directed to take all actions necessary to effectuate this resolution.

EFFECTIVE DATE
This Resolution shall be effective upon its adoption.
