Bill McMurray Craig Collins
Staff Members:

Minutes amended from the July 8th meeting to show Jeff Goodman as Chairman, voted and
passed unanimously as amended.
Old Business:
► Dan Pillard reported the status of the well and water resource permit. Everything has
been approved. Gestlin was awarded the contract and drilling should start in two weeks.
The City water system has not been used for irrigation to date.
► Max Williamson complemented the Golf Course, Restaurant and Pro Shop staffs in that
past eyesores appear to have been better handled this season. There are some new holes
in the cart path near the snack shack due to water from the sprinkler system Dan Mud
is working with Public Works on it and will also look into an asphalt alternative. Cedar
has irrigation problems, notably on hole #2. Needs to be covered in long range planning
before turning into an asset that has become a liability.
► Availability of drinking water on the course has become a major problem The motion
was made, seconded and passed that the City provide water hookups for restrooms and
drinking fountains at no charge to the golf course.
► The proposed 1999 golf course budget was again discussed. The motion was made,
seconded and passed that a line item be added to the budget for cart path maintenance.
New Business:
► Dari McKim, President of the McCall Ladies' Golf Association, advised that the
Association has changed its bylaws to allow for any member of the Executive Board to
vote in the absence of the appointed Golf Course Advisory Committee member.
► Letter requests for refund of 1998 golf course season passes from Don Troyer and Terri
Olson were reviewed. It was moved, seconded and passed that the monies be refunded by
the City as follows: a) Don Troyer #46 for $400.00 + sales tax; b) Terri Olson #178 for
$400.00 + sales tax, less one round of golf at $24.00 + sales tax.

Staff Reports:
► Mary Clemmer reported that July revenues are up due to improved weather over June's
rain. The tournaments have been a big asset and the air conditioning and twilight golf
rates have greatly contributed to more restaurant/bar business.
► Carl Hoss reported that golf course revenues are also up and June's deficit has been
covered during July. The scoreboard area has been cleaned up and new scoreboard
installed, and major renovations to the driving range have been completed. He is
continuing to work with the scorecard firm to secure the scorecards that have been on
order since last November.
► Dan Pillard reported that #7 Cedar drainage has been completed and sodded and #5 Aspen
seeded. Irrigation repairs are being completed. He is working on a priority booklet for
the individual golf holes.
General open discussion.
The next meeting is scheduled for September 9th at 7:00 p.m. Appointment of Chairman and
Vice Chairman for the Golf Course Advisory Committee will be addressed.
Adjournment.
